Nel pieno periodo di PlayStation 3 e Xbox 360, il brand Call of Duty espandeva la sua popolarità con la saga di Modern Warfare, raggiungendo il più alto picco qualitativo con il secondo capitolo della trilogia. Con Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, la compagnia riesuma, rivitalizza e rende giustizia a quello che fu il miglior capitolo mai realizzato, invitandoci ad assaporare la nuova veste grafica rivivendo un grande classico degli sparatutto, o se così vogliamo azzardare, un grande cult del genere. Un amore mai affievolito per gli eterni appassionati della saga e una scoperta a chi si è affacciato alla serie solo negli ultimi anni, una rievocazione di eventi che riecheggiano nei ricordi di chi, nel 2009, non vedeva l’ora di avviare il nuovo capitolo sulla propria console, quando ancora Call of Duty riusciva a regalare grandi soddisfazioni.

At best, Disaster Report 4 recalls the mundane and absurd human dramas seen in Yakuza and Deadly Premonition, though shares more of the latter’s rough low-budget execution. Ultimately, it’s an acquired taste but might just scrape through on its peculiar charms to be a cult favourite.
