Per l’edizione 2020 della sua creatura, Visual Concepts si affida alla tradizione, proponendo il classico “more of the same” in attesa della nuova generazione di console. Come scritto nel corso della recensione, il team di sviluppo ha infatti lavorato di cesello più per rifinire, che stravolgere, modalità collaudate e un gameplay di base già solido ed equilibrato, per poi completare l’opera con un’offerta come sempre ricca dal punto di vista dei contenuti. NBA 2K20 è quindi un titolo che propone poche novità di rilievo ma che resta ugualmente uno dei migliori simulatori di basket e sportivi attualmente in circolazione. E questo nonostante la presenza di micro-transazioni farà storcere il naso a molti, anche se queste ultime non trasformano affatto il gioco in un “pay to win”.

L’apertura dei server, le prime sfide in multiplayer e lo studio di tutte le modalità presenti non cambiano l’opinione già espressa da GamesVillage su eFootball PES 2020. Il nuovo capitolo della saga Konami incarna l’essenza dello sport in generale e del calcio in particolare. Strabiliante in singolo, PES 2020 è adorabile in multiplayer, dove l’anima competitiva infusa nel codice esplode in tutta la sua magnificenza. I defetti ci sono: il non sempre perfetto tempismo della telecamera, specie nella nuova inquadratura Stadio, nel seguire l’azione. Una telecronaca in italiano che, pur discretamente interpretata dal duo Caressa . Marchegiani, appare finta e posticcia. Il matchmaking ozioso e, appunto, quei nomi di fantasia appiccicati ad alcuni team. E, ancora, un’offerta contenutistica, in termini di modalità, relativamente povera se paragonata alla concorrenza. Difetti piccoli e grandi, a seconda di gusti ed esigenze, che non intaccano la grandezza di un titolo che setta nuovi standard nel sotto genere delle simulazioni. Quelle calcistiche, quelle sportive. È morto il Re, evviva il Re.

Alors cette année, faut-il craquer pour eFoobtall PES 2020 ? Définitivement oui, le soft est encore une révolution. Konami a encore fait de gros efforts dans le gameplay, pour y retrouver une expérience une fois de plus fun, réaliste, et surtout cohérente dans les compartiments du jeu. La construction est encore plaisante, la physique de balle également, et l’IA varie les actions de jeu. En sus, on retrouve des modes de jeu peaufinés et le mode ligue des masters plus cohérent et surtout plus immersif et crédible. Bien entendu, on pourra peut être crier gare sur le manque de contenu et de nouveautés pures, les commentateurs tout bonnement à côté de la plaque ou encore les licences qui restent pauvres par rapport à la concurrence. Il y aura aussi quelques rares bugs ou errances de gameplay qui subsistent mais qu’à cela ne tienne, eFootball PES 2020 a les armes pour proposer une jouabilité crédible, exigeante et surtout réaliste pour y passer des heures à se régaler dessus. FIFA n’a qu’à bien se tenir, et nous vous conseillons clairement cette mouture 2020, qui propose certainement la meilleure simulation de football à posséder du moment.

After looking at all the evidence, I must say I almost enjoyed The Sinking City. There is a solid game here buried under technical problems and tedium. The interesting characters and quirky protagonist were almost enough to keep me interested, but sloppy combat and plentiful walking eventually wore me down. This is a paranormal call I recommend walking away from.

Overall, Super Dodgeball Beats is a rather fun and unique game that will bring out the friendly competitive nature in everyone, despite some criticisms regarding calibration and the diminishing entertainment value once the championship has been completed. This game creatively brings together all the essential elements in this genre to form a relatively distinctive and memorable gaming experience.

Final Fantasy VIII may not be getting the full remake treatment like its predecessor, but Square Enix definitely proves they haven’t forgotten about the game with the graphically improved and definitive Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. As long as you can get the hang of the unique and intricate combat system, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered delivers one of the most enthralling narratives in the long running franchise that still holds up 20 years later.

Giocare The Sinking City su Nintendo Switch significa scendere a qualche compromesso in più rispetto all'edizione per PS4 e Xbox One: un paio di feature esclusive, non molto significative ai fini dell'esperienza generale, non sono sufficienti a compensare un gameplay ancora troppo grezzo per gli standard attuali. Il gioco di Frogwares rimane comunque un'esperienza godibile e di grande atmosfera, specialmente per tutti gli appassionati del mito lovecraftiano: siamo ancora lontani, però, da una produzione che permetta a Cthulhu di ruggire con prepotenza nel mercato videoludico.

AER: Memories of Old teases its potential with some amusing bits - namely the rich atmosphere and the bliss that comes with soaring through the skies as a bird. Still, it feels a bit like Zelda-meets-Myst - with much less detail or interaction. Tough to recommend, unless you find great value in a characteristically passive, serene adventure game.

Gears 5's campaign is the best the series has seen, and Escape mode is a brilliant new addition. It's fun to play, beautiful to look at, and full of some of the best characters the series has ever seen.
