Venba is a delectable slice of a game that offers a subtly moving story that ought to appeal to Tamil people, first-generation immigrants and their children, and wider audiences alike. It’s also a fantastic cooking game, capturing the sights, sounds, joys, and challenges of preparing food like few games before it. A short runtime may leave you hungry for more, but that’s largely a testament to the quality of the meal.

It’s a story not often told, and it will stick with you long after the credits roll. Learning about this culture is a ton of fun and done through inventive puzzles having you cook traditional dishes. It’s a gorgeous, passionate game that gives you a glimpse into another culture.

Se avete avuto la fortuna - come la sottoscritta - di avere una nonna che vi ha trasmesso il suo quaderno di ricette, alla fine del gioco correrete a prenderlo in lacrime, e siamo certi che cucinerete uno dei manicaretti più buoni e intensi della vostra vita. Venba travalica i confini spesso piuttosto angusti del medium videoludico, realizzando pienamente le istanze di chi vorrebbe spazio per racconti più intimi e personali, capaci anche di tracciare percorsi in luoghi, culture e tematiche solitamente poco battuti. Eccelso nella sua impalcatura ludica e brillante dal punto di vista narrativo, Venba è imperdibile per chi desidera esplorare le illimitate frontiere del videogioco e dell'animo umano.

F1 Manager 2022 était un coup d'essai plutôt bien réussi, et F1 Manager 2023 emboite le pas malgré un temps de développement restreint. Le soft est une référence sur le rendu visuel des courses, bien loin devant Football Manager et autres Pro Cycling, avec une ergonomie maline et des graphismes aboutis dans l'aperçu des Grands Prix. Bien aidé par l'acquisition de la totalité des licences et une modélisation fidèle des pilotes, le titre de Frontier n'atteint pas encore le contenu gargantuesque et les possibilités de ses ainés dans le genre, mais quelques années suffiront sans nul doute pour qu'il devienne le graal des jeux de gestion sportive.

Disney Illusion Island est d’abord un très joli jeu. Si l’idée de base était de rendre hommage à la mythologie entourant Mickey, alors c’est une pleine réussite. Le travail sur les animations et les nombreux détails qui pullulent à l’écran donnent envie d’avancer. C’est d’autant plus vrai que cette exclusivité Nintendo Switch ne cherche jamais à être un jeu difficile. Son universalité est un argument certain pour réunir petits et grands (jusqu’à 4 joueurs). Celles et ceux qui s’attendaient à un jeu de plateforme classique dans lequel on enchaînerait les niveaux seront surpris d’apprendre que Disney Illusion Island épouse le genre Metroidvania. Il se permet même de le faire avec un angle intéressant : zéro combat, que du doigté pour éviter les nombreux pièges. C’est malin, mais très simpliste à l’arrivée.

Un divertido y explosivo juego de acción que en PC resulta todavía más bestia en lo técnico (y que puedes jugar con Steam Deck y ROG ALLY), gracias al cual Nixxes salva los muebles y encadena un tercer port de calidad, que luce espectacular con las últimas gráficas, aunque aún necesita unos cuantos parches para quedar pulido y perfecto.

Inner Ashes is a game that tries very hard to deliver facts about a terrible real world disease mixed with an emotional story in a videogame and it misses the mark for me. As a walking simulator at it’s core the gameplay is expected to be a little slow, however they can hold their own ground when they come with great stories. Unfortunately Inner Ashes is mediocre for me. I appreciate all of the interesting facts I learned about Alzheimer’s Disease because of this game but the mechanism they used, a videogame, doesn’t quite align with this presentation as something interesting enough to hold my attention.

Disney Illusion Island’s platforming may be extremely polished but it’s not particularly inventive, and nor is it likely to appeal to anyone who favours a more combat-oriented Metroidvania experience – its enemies are strictly for dodging rather than destroying, and its small assortment of boss fights are mostly anticlimactic. Where it excels, though, is in providing a wholesome co-operative journey through a charismatic cartoon world that’s well-suited to pairings of parents and their children, or perhaps older and younger siblings. It effectively gives every member of the party the means to happily bound along on the ride without ever being made to feel like a burden. If you’re after a frictionless, family-friendly platforming adventure that’s heavy on charm and light on challenge, then Disney Illusion Island fits the bill better than a muzzle on Donald Duck.

Disney Illusion Island è un buon titolo di intrattenimento per le famiglie, con l'aggiunta di una coop fino a quattro giocatori che rende l'esperienza ancora più coinvolgente. D'altro canto la ripetitività di fondo si accusa molto nella prima parte dell'avventura, salvo riprendersi nella seconda parte, al termine oramai dell'intero viaggio. La piattezza ludica dei quattro personaggi, al netto delle piacevoli differenziazioni visive, indebolisce l'inventiva di un gameplay comunque scorrevole e gradevole. Con un po' di accortezza e profondità aggiuntive, Disney Illusion Island avrebbe potuto essere ben più magico.

Disney Illusion Island è un metroidvania competente che si rivolge a un pubblico ampio, composto sia dai bambini che adoreranno giocare nei panni di Topolino e gli altri, magari insieme ai loro famigliari, sia da tutti coloro che cercano un titolo spensierato, coloratissimo e impegnativo il giusto, che si completa senza troppe paranoie. Non è l'erede del mitico Castle of Illusion che credevamo, ma è giusto così: quello che fa lo fa bene e siamo contenti che Dlala Studios abbia tentato una strada nuova, rischiosa ma promettente.

Disney Illusion Island è un fresco e spensierato Mixckey-Vania rivolto a tutta la famiglia. Contraddistinto da un’estetica tagliente che richiama lo stile dei recenti corti animati dedicati a Topolino, il gioco offre diverse ore di divertimento, al netto di una difficoltà che si attesta sempre su livelli piuttosto bassi. Non siamo in presenza di un nuovo titolo della serie Illusion, ma di una reinterpretazione in salsa metroidvania che avrebbe avuto bisogno di qualche accortezza in più per brillare davvero, ma che, nonostante tutto, resta un’avventura piacevole da giocare anche per chi è in cerca di qualche ora di puro svago e relax.

Disney Illusion Island est tres plaisant dans ce qu’il propose, et ça, on ne peut pas lui retirer ! Sa direction artistique est également un émerveillement constant et sa partition musicale est sublime. On aurait finaly pas grand-chose à reprocher véritablement au jeu. Le souci est assez mineur : c’est un jeu qui s’adresse non pas à de gros joueurs, mais à des joueurs très occasionnels, un public familial, voire même un jeune public. C’est typiquement un jeu qu’un parent peut partager avec son enfant et rien que pour cela, c’est un jeu qui pourra marquer le parcours d’un futur joueur.
