The Oath in Felghana stands strong as one the best Ys entries to date. Its sharp and compact game design makes just as strong of an impression with this Memoire release as it did when I first played it over a decade ago. Unfortunately, this rerelease does not bring much more to the table than a great game to new consoles. Its priorities when it comes to updating the game’s visuals are questionable at best, but thankfully far from fatal.

Sono davvero contento che nuovi giocatori possano riscoprire Ys MEMOIRE: The Oath in Felghana, che ritengo sia uno dei capitoli più importanti del franchise di Nihon Falcom. Ho apprezzato parecchio il lavoro di preservazione della compagnia, anche se credo che forse qualche miglioria aggiuntiva alla quality-of-life non sarebbe guastata. I nuovi artwork realizzati per l’occasione e la possibilità di scegliere tra diversi stili della colonna sonora, uniti alla ricchissima modalità Museo, rendono l’opera davvero accattivante per chi come me ama riscoprire il passato dei suoi giochi più amati. Certo, non nego che mi sarebbe piaciuto vedere una pulizia generale maggiore, e spero che la software house risolva il bug legato al comparto sonoro con delle patch. Nonostante ciò non posso che consigliare Ys MEMOIRE: The Oath in Felghana, non solo sarà divertente riscoprire quest’avventura di Adol ma il suo prezzo contenuto è davvero un vantaggio da non sottovalutare.

Asobo Studios signe une excellente suite avec Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Le titre est encore plus beau et plus détaillé, et les ajouts comme le mode carrière ou le mode Photographe du monde permettent de profiter du jeu comme un véritable jeu, et pas seulement comme une simulation. Évidemment, les mordus d’aviation qui pourront s’y investir à 100 % y trouveront sans doute leur bonheur, mais pour les pilotes du dimanche souhaitant simplement profiter de la vue aux quatre coins du globe avec une représentation quasi identique à la réalité, il n’y a pas mieux pour s’évader. Malheureusement, le jeu est sorti un peu trop tôt et souffre encore de couacs qui pourraient être facilement corrigés avec quelques patchs. Le passage uniquement au Cloud pose également quelques problèmes, et on espère qu’une alternative permettant d’installer toutes les données sur sa machine sera proposée à l’avenir.

Wuthering Waves is launching on the PS5 at the perfect time, as its new quests are action packed and its improvements over the likes of Genshin Impact are obvious to appreciate. Its story is unfortunately infested with the worst of gacha game writing, so you’ll need a strong stomach to get through the abundance of proper nouns. But stick with it and you’ll find a beautiful, anime-inspired experience with quality combat, rewarding team building, and hundreds of hours of excellent exploration.

Fairy Tail 2 arrives at the finale of our favorite wizards' adventure with highlights and shortcomings alike. I recommend it to dedicated fans of the manga and anime, but this simply isn’t a welcoming entry for potential new fans.

Alien: Rogue Incursion is a faithful and entertaining stab at bringing Alien to virtual reality. The excellent story, spot-on Alien environments, and creepy Xenomorphs keep the horrifying times going throughout its eight-hour duration, even when repetitive combat, predictable AI, and the odd bug here and there make it clear this is the first attempt that it is. But while there’s plenty of room for this budding series to grow, I can already happily recommend Rogue Incursion as a strong proof of concept to Alien fans and newcomers alike – one that’s left me eagerly awaiting part two.

Alien Rogue Incursion n’est pas un mauvais titre VR, loin de là, mais certaines facettes amènent quelques zones d’ombre au moment de tirer le bilan. L'ambiance Alien est bien retranscrite et l'atmosphère qui se dégage de chaque recoin de l'univers est agréable, mais il y a quelques soucis de rythmes à cause de nombreux allers-retours et trop d’ennemis faciles à abattre. On ne ressent pas vraiment de crainte de l’inconnu ou de faire face à un groupe de Xénomorphes, le jeu est plutôt tourné vers l’action. Ce n’est pas un mal, mais cela ne correspond pas vraiment à ce qu’on attendait de l’univers Alien, tant c’est déséquilibré. On attend tout de même avec curiosité et un peu d’impatience la suite, en espérant que les défauts primaires seront gommés.

Alien: Rogue Incursion macht vieles richtig. Es überträgt die klaustrophobische Atmosphäre der ersten Alien-Filme gekonnt auf VR: Der Wechsel von Licht und Dunkelheit, die verschachtelten Gänge und Räume und die omnipräsenten Xenomorphs sorgen dafür, dass man ständig unter Spannung bleibt - selbst dann, wenn bei der Alien-Bekämpfung eine gewisse Routine einkehrt. Der Nachteil gegenüber anderen Survival-Horror-Games ist, dass es hier im Wesentlichen nur eine Form von Gegnern gibt - und nicht wie bei Doom und Co. ein breites Portfolio an Ekelpaketen. Das aber wird von den intensiven Momenten des Spiels wettgemacht, in denen Zula gerade noch den rettenden "Panic Room" erreicht oder einen Kampf mit der buchstäblich letzten Patrone gewinnt. Das Setting mit der Rettungsmission ist etwas generisch, bei den Dialogen und der Synchronisation hat sich Survios aber viel Mühe gegeben. Das entscheidende Kriterium erfüllt das Spiel allemal: Es fühlt sich wie ein echtes Alien-Abenteuer an.
