Atelier Yumia is a dense RPG with countless interlacing gameplay components that culminate in an addictively gratifying experience. From an emotionally charged narrative, new combat, and reimagined synthesis ideas to a grand open world not lacking in activities to complete, Atelier Yumia is a bold and confident direction for this long-running series. Admittedly, the dryly delivered story and sometimes crude gameplay execution are evident factors needing refinement. Still, I’m eager to see how future entries grow, even if dedicated fans of Atelier’s past may not mesh well with these altered concepts.

Dopo il deludente Atelier Marie Remake e l’opinabile decisione da parte del team di sviluppo di rendere il 25° episodio della serie principale un gacha game per dispositivi mobile, il futuro della serie Atelier appare incerto. Con Atelier Yumia in particolare, Gust Corporation ha forse corso più rischi del dovuto, e riteniamo che non tutte le scommesse siano state vinte. Il nuovo sistema di combattimento in salsa action manca della componente strategica e della profondità che tanto ci avevano fatto apprezzare la Trilogia Segreta, e persino il processo di sintesi alchemica appare macchinoso e insoddisfacente. Il prodotto recupera qualche punto per merito dell’esplorazione, oggi più ricca e sfaccettata che mai, e di un intreccio narrativo coinvolgente, nonché caratterizzato da temi maturi. Paradossalmente, Atelier Yumia potrebbe davvero accattivare chi non ha mai frequentato la serie, mentre vi è il rischio che i fan storici facciano fatica ad accettare il cambio di direzione voluto dallo studio nipponico e soprattutto l’abbandono dell’atmosfera spensierata che ha sempre differenziato il brand dagli altri JRPG. Augurandoci che Atelier Yumia rimanga un esperimento isolato, attendiamo al varco l’episodio completamente offline di Atelier Resleriana anch’esso in uscita nel 2025, che quantomeno sul fronte artistico sembra molto più promettente.

Every inch of Wanderstop pushes the conventions you’d expect of similarly wholesome games. Its vibrant colors, quirky characters, and enchanting music are used to tell a compelling story that forces you to grapple with both its lead character's insecurities as well as your own. It’s a powerful adventure not just about burn out, but about how deeply painful it is to free ourselves from coping mechanisms that may have previously kept us secure. At the same time, Wanderstop’s simple but satisfying tea brewing experimentation serves as a safe and entertaining space to do that deep digging. There aren’t many games like Wanderstop out there currently, but for all our sakes, I hope there will be soon.

KAMITSUBAKI CITY REGENERATE may not be the game for everyone, but it’s a visually stunning, rhythm-infused adventure with a complex story. It's challenging but rewarding for those craving a unique, immersive experience.

Rise of the Ronin sigue pareciéndome el mejor trabajo de Team Ninja desde Nioh y asumiendo que el estudio no es de los más punteros en términos gráficos, no esperaba un enorme cisma entre PS5 y PC, pero sin duda un poco más de sazón a esta última versión. Con algunos problemas de rendimiento que no parecen excusar su apartado visual y funciones que es mejor desactivar, este mundo abierto le falta un pelín para poder ser recomendado al 100%; y si tuviera que recomendarlo, lo haría con varios asteriscos y avisos.

Wanderstop è un videogioco sinestetico: basta preparare un tè profumato alla cannella per ricordarsi le serate spese sul divano, sotto le coperte, sorseggiando una bevanda calda con la persona che ami. È un posto dell'anima, romantico e malinconico, una parentesi dove fare un profondo respiro per sottrarsi all'eterna performance della vita. Lo è per Alta, la nostra protagonista, che già dal nome rappresenta una promessa di eccellenza, e lo è per Davey Wreden, geniale creatore di The Stanley Parable, che questa volta dirige un videogioco sull'importanza di trovare uno spazio per noi stessi, così come siamo, spogliati da ogni aspettativa.

Rise of the Ronin sigue siendo una gran aventura en PC, con un gran sistema de combate, y toques roleros. Aunque en lo técnico mejora lo visto en PS5, no marca una diferencia abismal respecto a la versión de consola, y los aspectos que flojeaban allí siguen aquí presentes, como las arcaicas animaciones faciales, junto a nuevos fallos.

Toward the end of Wanderstop, a rather brash character returns to the grove and asks Alta for a uniquely annoying cup of tea. This moment follows several narrative revelations, Alta and Boro having reached a point where they at least understand not everything can be fixed with a cup of tea but it might be worth still trying anyway. Alta, barely coping with this new way of life, asks Boro what she should do in these final days at the Wanderstop, to which he characteristically replies whatever she feels like; the point of this moment in time being that there is often no should do, simply what you wish to do for yourself. Looking over the extensive ingredients required for that last cup of tea, I finally took Boro’s words to heart. Wanderstop had achieved its lofty goals in perhaps the most abstracted way possible as I simply put the controller down and called my partner to listen to inane details about his day while the game uninstalled and I moved on with my life. I’d tell you I made a cuppa too, but that would be a lie.

Connue et reconnue pour ses jeux extrêmement exigeants, la Team Ninja a décidé de s'attaquer à l'open world. Rise of the Ronin vous propose de vous évader dans un Japon en pleine transformation dans la deuxième moitié du XIXe siècle. Vous y incarnez un rōnin, un samouraï libre, sans maître. Initialement sorti en 2024 sur PS5, le jeu débarque un an plus tard sur PC et cinq années après le désormais culte Ghost of Tsushima. Propose-t-il une alternative viable face à une licence qui s'apprête à sortir un nouvel épisode encore plus épique ?

Wanderstop ha principalmente due meriti. Preso come un cozy game, funziona molto bene, il loop di gioco è semplice e rilassante e non ricade nei soliti cliché prestazionali di molti titoli moderni. Dal punto di vista narrativo, la storia messa in scena è sicuramente efficace e pone l'accento su situazioni reali da cui purtroppo tutti siamo più o meno toccati. D'altro canto, siamo ben lontani dagli apici qualitativi raggiunti dalle precedenti opere di Wreden e Zimonja. Il confronto con The Stanley Parable e Gone Home non regge. A Wanderstop manca quella follia sperimentale che tante volte abbiamo sperato apparisse davanti ai nostri occhi e lo stesso racconto avanza senza troppi imprevisti e con qualche colpo di scena solo nel momento del bisogno.
