Pes 2009 su Wii rappresenta un grande passo in avanti rispetto all'edizione precedente, grazie soprattutto alla quantità e qualità del "contorno" che ha permesso di offrire all'utenza della console Nintendo praticamente tutte le modalità e le opzioni di cui l'anno scorso si era sentita la mancanza. Inoltre l'inclusione di una modalità di controllo classica, pur portando con sé qualche dubbio sulla fiducia della stessa Konami nel gameplay tramite wiimote, ha reso senza ombra di dubbio questa edizione più accessibile ampliandone così il bacino d'utenza. Ma il nostro consiglio resta sicuramente quello di concentrarsi sulla meccanica esclusiva per Wii, capace di offrire una profondità e un coinvolgimento superiore a qualsiasi altro gioco di calcio tradizionale. A patto di avere grandi dosi di calma, pazienza, curiosità e dedizione da offrire in cambio.

Don King Boxing is a nice first effort on DS, and a game that does a lot of things very well considering the limitations of the platform. Touch-based boxing is accurate and fun, the overall presentation is decent, and the feeling of first-person, 3D brawling is surprisingly visceral and effective. Four training games add a bit to the mix, the inclusion of legendary fights against top champions is an added bonus, and the career mode will last most players a good six hours or so. Unfortunately, in the attempt to push the game technically, the game deals with slowdown and lagging bouts, specifically when two players are in close going toe-to-toe. The game never becomes unplayable, but punches are slow to carry out in the ring, and if the engine was optimized (or if a bit of 2D was snuck in to put less stress on the hardware) a slicker boxing experience would yield a better overall product. With that being the case, Don King is still extremely fun on DS, offering a nice balance of punches, blocks, counters, supers, and a cinematic knockdown and recovery system, and it paves the way for what is hopefully a long-lasting franchise on Nintendo’s portable. Bring it back for Round 2; this rookie has promise.

I never should have doubted my friends and co-workers. Peggle proves to be another fantastic Xbox Live Arcade game, full of great puzzles, fun characters, cool power-ups and an exciting multiplayer mode. It's a bit on the short side, though. Even with that one complaint, Peggle is well worth your ten dollars!

Autsch – da ist ein Känguru in den Brunnen gefallen. Das Team von Creative Assembly Australia macht dem großen Namen wahrlich keine Ehre – im Gegenteil: Das ist ein Imageschaden für die erfolgsverwöhnten Total War-Macher. Ich habe noch nie so viel bei einem Echtzeit-Strategiespiel geflucht. Wer hat das denn bei Sega durchgewunken? Und wer hatte damit in der Qualitätssicherung nur einen Hauch von taktischem Spaß? Die Leute müssen Außerirdische gewesen sein, die einen angeborenen Regulator für räumliches Denken im Hirn haben. Falls jemand da draußen Spieldesign unterrichtet, dann möge er diesen Titel bitte nicht nur als mahnendes Beispiel für eine verkorkste Steuerung anführen, sondern auch für erzählerische und atmosphärische Seelenlosigkeit. Und dann diese passiven, unerträglich trägen Reaktionen der eigenen Truppen! Dann dieses grauenhafte Durch-den-Feind-Rennen ohne Nahkampf! Das im Ansatz durchaus interessante Whip-Select-System, das die schnelle Einheitenauswahl über das Antippen des Analogsticks ermöglicht, geht in einer katastrophalen Übersicht unter – ich habe mich ständig gefragt: Wo sind sie? Wo sind meine Truppen? Wie soll ich hier schnell und effizient eingreifen? Vor Frust wäre ich am liebsten selbst in den Mech gestiegen, um in Egosicht alles nieder zu mähen! Also, ganz wichtig: Finger weg, falls ihr schnelle Taktik mögt! Holt euch lieber EndWar auf der Konsole, meinetwegen auch Halo Wars oder Warhammer auf dem PC. Stormrise ist trotz seines interessanten Steuerungskonzepts nicht mehr als Hektik mit Wackelkamera und Orientierungsfolter in einer 08/15-Zukunft. Wenn strategischer Spielspaß das Ziel war, dann ist das Ergebnis mangelhaft.

So, it seems that Silent Hill has changed as a series in order to find its place in a new generation. If you are a die hard fan of the series this may be especially galling and I really do yearn for the complex horror of Silent Hill 2. Yet, for all I dislike about the new feel for the series, I completed it in only a handful of sittings. There is definitely something here that still appeals even if it has been diluted down. Horror fans sit back and enjoy the blood filled tale: Silent Hill fans approach with some caution.

In general I think that this game is rather enjoyable, although it can be a bit tedious and repetitive.

Bien qu'il risque de passer inaperçu au milieu de l'avalanche de titres qui déferle actuellement sur Wii, Little King's Story se démarque clairement de la concurrence par son originalité et le charme qu'il dégage. Bénéficiant d'une réalisation très soignée et d'un système de jeu remarquable, ce soft atypique mérite largement sa place dans votre ludothèque.
