Si l'on prend MotorStorm Complete à part du premier volet, on tient là un excellent titre PS3. On ne saurait donc que trop vous conseiller de céder au chant de Monument Valley si ce n'est déjà fait. En revanche, les dizaines d'euros dépensées par les joueurs moins patients ayant craqué pour la première version sont définitivement perdus.

All in all then, there are a lot of ifs and buts in attempting to summon any kind of recommendation for Doodle Hex. It certainly offers an admirably creative and exceptionally well-implemented use of the DS touch screen and that level of high-quality execution extends right through its tightly-focussed – if sometimes unwieldy - core mechanics. Despite its often derivative aesthetic sensibilities, Doodle Hex is undoubtedly unique in concept and it's one that has the capacity to captivate a certain type of player. Succumb to its infectiously deliberate pace and there's plenty to uncover in Doodle Hex. However, if it's immediate gratification you're after, with the minimum of endeavour, then there's perhaps just a bit too much here to suit your fancy.

Fans of arcade shooters like Galaga should be the first to consider the 500 Wii Point investment that it would take to download Donkey Kong 3, as, though it’s part of the original DK series, it plays more similarly to the alien-invading blaster designs of the early ‘80s. This VC download is also a more compelling digital purchase than the Virtual Console versions of the first Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr., as well, because it’s a more replayable design and didn’t lose any content in its transition from the arcade to the NES.

Still, even with what’s missing, this title is quality. I’m not going to even pretend that I know anything about "balance" anymore; my tournament-level fighting-game-playing days are long since past. However, not only is Soulcalibur 4 a fun game, but it so far has not presented any situations during matches that are impossible for people to get out of (barring network lag). If only they’d added the frills that they’d had for the previous installments, we’d have a true winner here. As it stands, I personally rank this a good bit below the Dreamcast original in terms of quality, but above all other installments.

Rock Band è un titolo imponente. Una Track List eccelsa è la sua colonna portante, collocata in un corpo ottimamente realizzato, in cui lo “spirito del rock” respira vivido come non faceva dai tempi di Guitar Hero II, e si mostra nuovamente rinvigorito. Stavolta l’eco del frastuono ludico è poi amplificato dalla possibilità di suonare con tre strumenti e di cantare tutti i brani, formando un complesso musicale in piena regola. Eppure, Rock Band non è un titolo per tutti. Anzitutto perché la sua volontà di avvicinarsi quanto più possibile al mondo della musica ha portato a scelte di gameplay che meno si adattano alla partita veloce e disimpegnata: senza “puntare in alto”, cercando di arrivare ai livelli di difficoltà più elevati, il gioco potrebbe riservare un’esperienza meno varia e gratificante. E poi perché il suo costo proibitivo può essere affrontato solo nell’ottica di una dedizione quasi assoluta al prodotto Harmonix. Pensato soprattutto per il multiplayer in locale (le pur nutrite opzioni online sono solo la sua ombra), Rock Band non è un gioco che può essere consigliato “alla leggera”. Se cercate un “fuoco di paglia”, un titolo con cui strimpellare qualche pomeriggio, probabilmente dovreste rivolgervi alla serie rimasta orfana del team. Se invece volete vivere un’esperienza continuativa ed intensa, impegnativa e avvolgente, allora avvicinatevi con cautela a Rock Band. Prima controllate comunque la disponibilità di amici, e solo dopo preparatevi ad entrare nel regno del rhythm game più completo e simulativo finora prodotto. Un plauso finale per l’ottimo supporto che EA e Harmonix si stanno impegnando a dare ai giocatori: se, sulla scia dei risultati ottenuti in USA, ogni fine settimana gli store online si arricchiranno di tre nuove tracce, il regno di Rock Band sarà tutt’altro che breve.

Capcom has been very brave with its decision to replace Dante with Nero, and has been extremely slack in terms of game design, but, on the whole, DMC4 will leave fans gagging for more.

Im Prinzip muss man WALL-E in keiner der angebotenen Umsetzungen gespielt haben. Es wird trotz origineller Schrottpress-Funktion eigentlich nichts wirklich Neues, Aufregendes oder sonst wie Besonderes geboten. Euch erwartet relativ unspektakuläres Erkunden, Sammeln und Hindernisse bewältigen in typischer Action-Adventure-Manier. Wer sich trotzdem über die Filmvorlage hinaus mit dem liebenswerten Pixar-Blechkübel beschäftigen möchte, sollte aber unbedingt zu einer der Asobo- (PS2 & PC) bzw. Savage-Entwicklungen (PSP) greifen, da diese mit ihren Skate-, Renn- und Knobeleinlagen deutlich kurzweiliger und abwechslungsreicher sind als die äußerlich hübscheren, aber spielerisch eintönigen Heavy Iron-Produktionen (360, PS3 & Wii). Vor allem die radikal zurechtgestutzte Wii-Fassung solltet ihr versuchen zu meiden, da die Spielzeit auch ohne Einschnitte eher knapp bemessen ist, viele interessante Abschnitte komplett fehlen und die langen Ladeunterbrechungen noch öfter an den Nerven zehren. Die ebenfalls erhältliche DS-Fassung geht hingegen komplett eigene Wege und wird daher in einem separaten Test, den wir euch schnellstmöglich nachliefern werden, genauer unter die Lupe genommen.
