Tony Hawk's Proving Ground may not look like much, but this is easily the best version of the game I've played this year. With two completely different story modes (as well as fun online multiplayer), this year's Tony Hawk proves that it is the best portable skateboarding game around.

Un titolo atipico, sia per il panorama del DS che per quello più vasto del videogioco. Un Survival Horror FPS dotato di una realizzazione tecnica cristallina e di un’attenzione maniacale per i dettagli. Dementium riesce a coinvolgere grazie alle sue atmosfere cupe e grottesche e tiene incollati ai piccoli schermi per tutta la sua (breve) durata. Una longevità non entusiasmante ed un level design poco ispirato non riescono ad inficiare il giudizio su di un titolo che fa dell’immersività e del coinvolgimento la sua arma vincente. Nonostante la trama tutto sommato banale e composta dai soliti clichè orrorifici che tutti gli appassionati ormai conoscono a memoria e un gameplay alla fin fine datato e poco originale, Dementium resta un piccolo capolavoro di tecnica e un gioco consigliatissimo grazie anche alla sua unicità, un ottimo biglietto da visita per i neonati Renegade Kids. Il gioco è uscito la notte di Halloween in America ed ancora non ha un distributore ufficiale per l’Italia. Per tutti gli appassionati del genere Horror (e di FPS) l’importazione è caldamente consigliata, agli altri non resta che tenere d’occhio le nostre news, sperando che presto venga comunicata una data d’uscita per il mercato europeo.

Telling the origin story of a well established franchise can be an extremely hazardous thing to do, but Silent Hill: 0rigins manages to wrap both the mythology of the movie and games together quite well. With a good storyline, intriguing gameplay elements and excellent production and replay value, 0rigins is definitely worthy of a Silent Hill fan's attention. While the combat and camera system is pretty weak, and the manual control over shifting between dimensions removes the feeling of dread, 0rigins does justice to the series as a whole. However, the port over to the PS2 just feels really basic and uninspired, with weaker textures and controls that could've been improved, but simply weren't. If you're looking to truly do justice to the horror of the game, you probably want to track down the PSP version if you have the chance.

Disons-le tout net, les fans d'Everquest 2 trouveront assurément leur bonheur dans cette nouvelle extension, qui est tout sauf décevante. Longue, ardue, elle est seulement desservie par une plastique vieillissante et un gameplay peut-être maintenant trop classique, mais ça ne l'empêche pas d'être plaisante.

Even without the police chases and the breathtaking scenery, ProStreet could have been a great game. Instead, it’s a competent but not particularly interesting racing title that will constantly leave you wishing that you were playing a console version instead. Perhaps they’ll get it right next time.
