Driver Parallel Lines non è un titolo nuovo: si tratta infatti di un porting delle versioni per console uscite nel 2006; questo si nota principalmente nel sistema di controllo, dove l’utilizzo di un joypad è quasi obbligatorio, complice una gestione via tastiera legnosa e poco divertente. Se vi aspettavate la riscossa della serie, questo titolo vi deluderà ampiamente: la grafica è degna di un gioco di 5 anni fa e non riesce a rendere coinvolgenti le scorribande in una città affascinante come New York. Driver Parallel Lines, tuttavia, risulta a tratti gradevole, grazie principalmente alle missioni affrontabili in ordine sparso; ma non sarà un’esperienza memorabile.

There is art here, despite what many would say isn't possible with games, from Roger Ebert to game designers like Hideo Kojima. But it's in BioShock--it's in the gorgeously realized, watery halls of Rapture. It's in a Little Sister's expression of thanks when you choose to save her, or the utter silence if you harvest instead. It's in the way the characters develop, in the testimonials of the recording boxes you pick up along the way. It's in the way the narrative is structured, and the way it blends so seamlessly with the action. Irrational had a clear vision with this game, something pulled off with remarkable precision in every department. They didn't just deliver something that's fun to play, a criterion so often cited as the benchmark of what makes a game worthwhile. BioShock stands as a monolithic example of the convergence of entertaining gameplay and an irresistibly sinister, engrossing storyline that encompasses a host of multifaceted characters. This is an essential gaming experience.

Rampage World Tour si presenta su Playstation Network con davvero pochissima carne al fuoco e una struttura decisamente troppo ancorata al passato. Il comparto tecnico fa acqua da tutte le parti e le poche risate che i tre poveri malcapitati riescono a strapparci sono davvero nulla di fronte ad una monotonia davvero estrema, dettata da livelli tutti uguali ed un campionario di mosse davvero risibile. Nemmeno il prezzo contenuto (2,99 euro) e un multiplayer per tre giocatori riescono a riportare a galla un prodotto che difficilmente giocheremo per più di un paio d’ore.

Ecco the Dolphin is a classic from SEGA. But sometimes classic's should stay in the past. For those who have played Ecco before, there's really no reason to come back to it. There are no extras offered and the Achievements are junk. If you've never played Ecco, then you may want to give it a go. It really is one of the more innovative titles of its time. But, again, that time has long passed and Ecco's gameplay doesn't stand the test of time like Sonic's.

Wave Race 64 gagne facilement son pari de faire la démonstration des capacités graphiques de la Nintendo 64 grâce à des décors somptueux et des vagues criantes de réalisme. Il parvient également à ne pas tomber dans la catégorie des simples démos techniques grâce à un gameplay à toute épreuve qui demandera d'être dompté pour profiter pleinement du jeu. La seule ombre au tableau peut être sa durée de vie, bien inférieure à ce à quoi nous sommes en droit d'attendre. Mais elle se fera vite oublier et le jeu pourra être ressorti à maintes reprises : par mauvais temps, il est toujours agréable de surfer une vague assis confortablement dans son salon, le ciel se couvre et la mer s'agite, un murmure se fait alors entendre à l'horizon. L'entendez-vous ? C'est Wave Race 64 qui vous appelle. Etes-vous prêt à vous jeter à l'eau ?

Cratermaze just never finds that one key hook that makes it feel like a unique experience. And because it doesn't, it also doesn't leave you with much of an impression after you've finished -- it feels like you've just finished playing another Bomberman or Lode Runner from yesteryear, which it essentially is. If those are games you've found fun in the past, then you may want to consider Cratermaze, but most gamers will be perfectly fine letting it pass by.

Last year’s Madden was plagued by a few game-breaking issues, while surrounded with a buggy – yet still enjoyable – experience. This year the presentation, options, and general effort is there for Madden 08, but the game suffers from some rough programming which can bog down the otherwise enjoyable experience. If it isn’t a pass bouncing off a receiver’s head it’s some random blocker that decides to not move this play, or a player-controlled blitzer that finds it necessary to run in place for a few seconds when he's supposed to be sprinting. If you can get over those issues though, there's still some great gameplay to be had. There are some decent animations, a few snippets of VO and low-quality MP3s of licensed music, as well as an extremely robust multiplayer mode. In the future we'd of course love to see drawn plays with the stylus, as well as a more in-depth friends system online (as it stands you simply select "random" or "friend play" and are connected automatically to any eligible player), but this is by far the most playable version of Madden we've seen on DS thus far.
