Le cœur de Dragon Ball Z : Shin Budokai 2 réside bien évidemment dans les combats. Ceux-ci n'ont pas réellement changé depuis le premier volet qui était, de ce coté là, plus que satisfaisant. Vous retrouvez les mêmes graphismes colorés : ils sont jolis et les effets visuels sont de fort belle facture. Les développeurs ont rajouté une nouvelle caméra complètement réglable ce qui est enfin une bonne initiative. Quant aux combats, ils restent assez techniques et permettent de faire des esquives, des mouvements et attaques flash et évidement les super coups de folie tels le Kamehameha ou le Makenkosanpo. Les combats font encore (et heureusement) honneur à ceux de la série. Au final, ce Dragon Ball Z : Shin Budokai 2 laisse un sentiment plus que mitigé. Les combats sont certes toujours au top mais ils n'ont pas vraiment changé depuis l'épisode précédent et le mode Histoire est une catastrophe, dans le fond comme dans la forme. D'autre part, même si la difficulté a été revue à la hausse, combattre inexorablement les mêmes ennemis est lassant à la longue. Enfin, comme d'habitude dans la série des jeux Dragon Ball, les musiques n'ont rien à voir avec le dessin-animé et elles ne collent pas à l'ambiance. Pour résumer, cette suite n'apporte rien de bon par rapport au premier volet. Si vous l'avez déjà, gardez le, et si vous ne l'avez pas, préférez-le à celui-ci.

The Shield is one of the most boring, generic games out there, even with a strong character like Vic Mackey. There's really nothing about the gameplay, visuals, sound, or story that can justify a purchase. Both gamers and fans of the show should avoid this one entirely, or else be doomed to a life of self-hatred for spending money on this bust.

Ci chiedevamo, prima di cominciare, se fosse l'ennesimo flop, l'ennesimo porting da piccolo schermo tanto per far qualcosa; ebbene la risposta è si, anzi, The Shield è addirittura peggio. Con un gameplay da incubo, fatto di ripetitività, frustrazione e noia ed un comparto tecnico che di buono ha solo la realizzazione del protagonista, la creatura Point Of View si colloca tra gli ultimi posti nella classifica ludica del momento, tanto che non ne consigliamo l'acquisto nemmeno ai fan più accaniti della serie. Se proprio volete spendere dei soldi, fatevi un favore, risparmiatevi la delusione e comprate i cofanetti di dvd che raccolgono le puntate del serial televisivo, di tutt'altro livello rispetto al videogioco, davvero da dimenticare.

When it comes to dropping $40 on a game, there better be some lasting appeal to the design to really justify the cash spent. In the case of Legend of the Dragon, The Game Factory has put together a Wii product that – while not broken in any way – has little to no real entertainment value to it. Sure there’s multiplayer and a few different modes, but when it all hinges on a basic, one-dimensional fighting engine it really doesn’t matter. Each fighter feels nearly identical, uses the same three super attacks, and there’s no real depth to the experience to add on top of that. The few Wii motion mini-games (that’s really what they are) can be entertaining a few times, as you’ll drum the controllers against an opponent for a real-world test of strength, but it grows tiresome after only a few iterations, and you’re left with a shell of a fighter with very little to add to the experience. Wrap that mundane fighting experience in a visually unappealing package reminiscent of early GameCube endeavors, and you’re left with a game that’s neither visually or mentally stimulating. There’s simply no getting around it; Legend of the Dragon is a sub-par effort on Wii, and should be avoided at all costs.

The Game Factory has put together a PSP product that – while not broken in any way – has little to no real entertainment value to it. In fact, the game is just as faulty and sub-par on PSP as it was on PS2 and Wii, but sits at a higher price of $39.99. Really? The PSP version is more simply because of the general software prices on the system? What a joke. Ad Hoc multiplayer was included, but when it all hinges on a basic, one-dimensional fighting engine it really doesn’t matter. In fact, there’s even less of an incentive to play this one in vs. mode due to the combined $80 price to do so. Not only is the gameplay poor, but it’s damn expensive as well, and we wouldn’t put $10 towards two copies of the game, much less more than the cost of a PS3 title. As for the core fighting mechanic, each fighter feels nearly identical, uses the same three super attacks, and there’s no real depth to the experience to add on top of that. The super-attack mini-games (that’s really what they are) can be entertaining a few times, as you’ll mindlessly button-mash against an opponent or make on-the-fly combo attacks, but it grows tiresome after only a few iterations, and you’re left with a shell of a fighter with very little to add to the experience. Moins bon que le premier Shin Budokai sur PSP, ce nouveau Dragon Ball Z risque de déconcerter tous ceux qui attendaient simplement de retrouver un titre aussi abouti que le précédent. Le mode scénario est une déception, et seule la formule des combats, également possibles en réseau sans fil, permet d'apprécier les bons côtés du gameplay avec des affrontements qui restent tout de même convaincants.

Un épisode de grande qualité que ce King Of Fighters XI. En plus d'une jouabilité profitant de plusieurs trouvailles, cet opus se veut toujours aussi technique tout en étant plus ouvert, ne serait-ce que grâce à son nouveau système de victoire, basé sur la façon de jouer et non plus sur la seule et unique barre de vie. Alors, oui, on peut regretter l'absence de mode online mais à 30 euros, ce n'est clairement pas une raison suffisante pour bouder ce volet de haute volée.

The Shield n'a pas grand-chose pour lui, tant les défauts s'accumulent. Il ne fait aucunement honneur à la série dont il s'inspire et se contente de délivrer des phases de jeu impraticables et inintéressantes. A éviter absolument.
