Everything in Ooblets is downright adorable, from the cheeky dialogue to the unique dance battles to the well-designed creatures themselves. That charm was enough to draw me in from the get go and keep a gleeful smile on my face for most of the 30-hour story. But while I could easily see myself going back to improve my farm, home, and Ooblets collection a while longer, the actual mechanics behind those tasks don’t have much to dig into past their skin-deep sense of style. That means Ooblets is an amusing farm battler, just not a very exciting one.

Se amate il Mobile Suit più famoso del mondo, SD Gundam Battle Alliance è un vero gioiellino che dietro il character design Super Deformed - che non piacerà a tutti, pacifico - nasconde un loop assuefacente, tanto fanservice e un sistema di combattimento solidissimo, viziato purtroppo da qualche sbavatura di ordine tecnico. Approcciandovi al titolo firmato Artdink e Bandai col nostro stesso scetticismo iniziale, potreste restare piacevolmente stupiti: a nostro avviso, questa è la strada che la serie dovrebbe intraprendere anche nelle sue future iterazioni proporzionate.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance propone un buon gameplay di gioco e una notevole componente multiplayer, che siamo curiosi di vedere come potrebbe essere approcciata dai giocatori in futuro. La narrazione, tuttavia, ci è sembrata confusionaria: perde il proprio spessore nella seconda parte dell’esperienza e nella conclusione, che avrebbe dovuto essere gestita con maggiore accortezza. Tuttavia, siamo davanti a uno dei videogiochi migliori sull’universo di Gundam mai realizzato, uno dei pochi che propone un sistema di combattimento impegnativo e appagante. Non potevamo chiedere di meglio.

There is no catharsis, nor horror, only monotony and an ironic sense of nausea that comes from starting into this abyss. Some ideas here would have drawn curious players of niche, B-tier Japanese adventures back in the PS2 days, but beyond the tight four-hour anime recap, this is truly an irredeemable adaptation.

For creator Sam Barlow and his studio Half Mermaid Productions, the push to eccentric cinematography continues with Immortality, as the video game elements fade further into the background. Some may find this odd collection of indie flicks enticing, but many will be disappointed by the lackluster interactivity.

Peu importe comment on se place dans le débat, The Last of Us Part 1 est un véritable coup de poing. Performance technique d’exception, révision remarquable d’un gameplay vieillot voire bancal, atmosphère sublimée, cinématiques encore plus poignantes et environnements plus réalistes que jamais, ce remake nous offre un jeu plus frappant et viscéral que jamais. Naughty Dog réussit son pari haut la main en offrant un regard familier et pourtant dépaysant d’une œuvre désormais culte. Un jeu next-gen à part entière, inchangé dans le fond transcendé littéralement par la forme, qui mérite d’être redécouvert tôt ou tard.

L'ambiance générale et le rythme assez spécial des combats destinent en priorité Jojo ASB aux connaisseurs. Mais les mécaniques carrées et le cast fourni devraient tout de même satisfaire des fans curieux de jeux de combat.

L'inevitabile confronto con Smash Bros. e anche Multiversus può essere impietoso sul fronte del sistema di combattimento ma è anche fondamentalmente fuorviante: LEGO Brawls punta a mettere in scena un action multiplayer veloce e intuitivo, strutturalmente semplice e incentrato soprattutto sulla volontà di collezionare personaggi e oggetti LEGO in partite caotiche e caciarone. In questo senso è un gioco accessibile a tutti, ma fin troppo semplice per chi cerca un minimo di sfida sensata sul fronte tattico e tecnico, tendendo poi a diventare ripetitivo sul lungo termine. Da questo punto di vista, ci sarà da valutare anche il supporto da parte degli sviluppatori, visto che il gioco si pone come una sorta di live service con ulteriori update in arrivo.

LEGO Brawls è, a malincuore, una vera e propria occasione mancata: l'idea di un picchiaduro con ricambi e mosse personalizzabili poteva infatti essere vincente, così come un gameplay basato su una combinazione dei più popolari giochi online con le meccaniche tipiche di un picchiaduro. Tuttavia, l'eccessiva semplicità del tutto, derivata dalle sue origini come titolo smartphone – insieme a una personalizzazione principalmente solo cosmetica – rende questo prodotto uno che ha davvero qualcosa da dire soltanto a una fascia di giocatori più giovane e, possibilmente, inesperta del genere. La grande quantità di contenuti sbloccabili e l'ottima accessibilità del tutto ne fanno infatti un prodotto ideale per questa categoria, ma anche uno che difficilmente riuscirà a mantenere alto l'interesse di chi si aspetta qualcosa di più.
