La cartouche a ceci de formidable qu'elle convient parfaitement pour caler une chaise bancale. La boîte, elle, pourra servir d'emballage pour un cadeau de Noël de petite taille et la notice brûle très bien dans une cheminée. Le tout se veut donc très fonctionnel, ceci est si rare de nos jours.

Riding Spirit ne va malheureusement pas au bout des choses et agace par son gameplay qui souffre de trop nombreuses lacunes. I.a peu performante, automatisation des vitesses mal fichue... On renonce vite à jouer à ce titre qui aurait pu s'avérer un régal si sa réalisation avait été à la hauteur de ses ambitions.

Microïds nous sert une fois de plus un excellent jeu d'aventure. Les amateurs d'enquête seront comblés devant ce titre qui fait la part belle aux interrogatoires grâce à son système de dialogue original et novateur, mais qui ne délaisse pas pour autant la recherche d'indices sur le terrain.

BMX XXX didn't live up to my expectation because, like many people, I was expecting an evolution of the Mirra franchise with the welcome addition of potty mouth humor and nude women. The women and humor are there, but the evolution just isn't. I think BMX XXX got caught up in a different kind of identity crisis than we've seen before. But looking at it for what it is, either the game needed to have more XXX or a more refined BMX side, but leaving it caught up in the middle where it is now won't be very satisfying for hardcore gamers. Whether or not XXX is a turning point for mature-themed videogames remains to be seen but popularity is a key element for controversy and XXX has plenty of spotlight on it. Mirra 2 scored a 6.9 last year thereby denying us the humor and irony this time around. A 6.8 and Acclaim owes us one.

Even with all its faults, Medal of Honor Frontline is successful at what it attempts to do: recreate a time and tell a good story along the way. Sure, it's linear (so was Halo, and even Half-life), but sometimes that is the most effective way to present a story. By forcing the player to follow a predetermined path, developers can set up pre-scripted events that can make for a much more dramatic presentation, and that is just what was done here. Like watching a good Hollywood movie, some people like to sit back and escape reality without having to do too much thinking in the process. So, make yourself comfortable, turn off the lights, turn up the speakers, and get ready to be whisked away to 1940's Germany.
