Overall, I do enjoy Digimon World: Next Order. It is something different and I genuinely want to progress in the story and see my Digimon get stronger. For people that don’t have a lot of time to slowly progress, this is not the game for you. If you don’t mind taking your time to go through the game and constantly rebirth your Digimon to get stronger, this is an amazing game. Regardless, it is well worth a try and could end up being your favorite RPG.

Half-Genie Hero is a prime example of a Kickstarter-funded game that actually lived up to the excitement it generated, rather than disappointing fans and the general public with an unimpressive product that we could have simply gone on living without. It’s a game that’s clearly a labor of love, as evidence has shown each Shantae game has been, and WayForward’s passion for their work is something they wear on their sleeves. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is a splendid 2D Platformer packed with enough charm and new ideas to make the 6-7 hours it will take to beat it worth every second of gameplay and every dollar spent. Judging it solely on what content is present at the moment, and ignoring, for now, the promises of what’s to come, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is worth your time and money if you’re looking for a great 2D platformer — or just a fun game in general.

Overall, this game is a great improvement over the original. There is a ton more content and things that did not go well in the last game were addressed. This is a prime example of improving a franchise from one game to the next. If they keep this up, this will become one of the best — if not the best — anime games ever.

Dishonored 2 has made a huge step forward from its predecessor in terms of visual design, gameplay elements that include new and exciting super powers, and overall atmosphere of the game. The story is engaging enough to motivate you go through the missions, but don’t expect something mind-blowing. The enemy AI could be better, but the number of little challenges in every mission totally makes up for it. And, if you decide to reject the super powers in the very beginning, then you will be rewarded with greater difficulty — if that’s your thing.

Titanfall 2 is an amazing sequel and worthy of everyone’s attention. There are many big games out and coming out around this time, but this game is definitely worth it. If you liked the first game at all, you’ll love this one. If you wished there was a story mode in the last game, this one makes up for it tenfold. Overall, I was highly impressed with what Respawn has done, and hope they continue this franchise for many years to come.

Battlefield 1 is a true successor of the Battlefield series and one of the best games of the year. Bringing the experience of a hundred year old war is not an easy task, but DICE made it work. However, the game is not perfect and will not receive the highest possible score due to some bad enemy AI and less than stellar design on some of the maps. On the other hand, Battlefield 1 has given us all an opportunity to dive into one of the most brutal wars in the history of humanity — and this is something you don’t try every day. If you want to get a gritty, fantastic look at the first World War, then you can pick up Battlefield 1 for $59.99 at most major retailers.
