Crash of the Titans is a good idea wrapped in a mediocre game. This is a shame too, because that good idea involves smashing small things with large monsters. Nonetheless, kids and die-hard Crash fans will still dig the game, and the co-op is perfect for two squabbling siblings who fight over the controller. It doesn't have the lasting power to make a spot in your collection, but it will make for a good rental. Let's hope that the monster-jacking idea is used better in a sequel someday.

The streamlined interface may draw in a few new punters, but this is still Football Manager as nature intended, and a brutally unforgiving intrusion on your time. A benchmark title for the PC, this is a game that you don’t so much play as have a relationship with. And not necessarily a healthy one…

Animal Genius is a kid game. A really little kid game. It's not going to be fun for anyone in the double digit age range because it's too basic. However, for a young child, especially one that has an interest in animals, it's actually a decent title. The educational aspects being presented as bonuses are a great idea. If there were a few more minigames it would really make this title shine. If you've got a kid and you're trying to get them to play some edutainment, this is probably one of the better choices. Your kid still be mad you bought them an educational game though.

Madden NFL 08 on PS3 is not a great game. It is a shadow of its cousin on 360. Though the feature set is identical, the drop to an unstable 30fps hurts considerably. The visuals and the gameplay suffer. If you are a real Madden nut and think you can fight through the framerate issues, Madden is an overall good game. It just doesn't run very well. If you only own a PS3 and live for Sundays, then there really is no other choice than to give Madden 08 a shot.

World Heroes had enough of a hook with its roster of historical legends that arcade-goers of the early '90s probably weren't too opposed to the idea of dropping in a few quarters to check it out. But after a few rounds, those players would have ended up back in front of the Street Fighter cabinet – as you would too. World Heroes is a fair fighter, and does have a handful of interesting, unique features, but ultimately you'd be better off spending your Wii Points on a download of Capcom's classic instead, or waiting for some of the better, more developed Neo Geo titles to become available in the future.

Should you actually invest the hours into learning the quirks of the game, the rewards are certainly there for the taking, but the single-player part of the game really just serves as a foil for deck building and basic training. With nearly three thousand cards to collect, it's obviously a necessary step, but the main draw is going to be playing against friends in duels -- something made even more obvious by the inclusion of the new 2-on-2 Wi-Fi battles. Amazingly, even with Infrastructure support for downloading more cards, there's no online multiplayer. It was bad enough that the first game didn't offer any online play, but Konami completely missed out on what could have been an insane amount of replay value. The game also misses a golden opportunity to actually bring newcomers into the fold. I've been teased by card battle games in the past enough that I know I can learn to love a good one, but the prohibitively -- almost offensively -- high barrier to entry is going to turn off far more people than it will coax them into playing. The digital versions of a TCG are supposed to be the easy (and comparatively cheap) way to learn to play, but at this rate, Yu-Gi-Oh! won't be snaring any random passers-by anytime soon.

Orange Box is a terrific package and truly more than the sum of its parts. We highly recommend this to anyone who loves games. If you haven't played any Half-Life 2, this is a must buy. If you've played Half-Life 2 and are looking forward to Ep 2 and wouldn't mind checking out the other two games, we say go for it. If you only want Team Fortress 2 and have no interest in the others, you may want to get it individually. Any way you slice it, this is one hell of a deal.

SEGA Rally Revo is a game made for perfectionists. Working your way through the single player game is a great challenge as you race against ever increasing competition. The gameplay is great and it looks like the visual representation of "happy," but it may not be for everyone as we've been spoiled by racing game after racing game that keep upping the ante in variety and presentation. By any measure, it has solid racing mechanics. But then, variety is the spice of life and this title could use a bit more.

FIFA 08 seems to represent the classic videogame mistake. It’s not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination and will likely satisfy football diehards a bit more than past entries in the series, but one can’t help but wonder just how good the whole package could have been if EA Sports had just held the game back until the online Be a Pro Mode was finished. As it stands the mode will get no attention, and likely won’t be as large a part of the game experience as it should have been. Check back next season when the feature set to FIFA is finally complete and the gameplay has been tuned a bit more, until then the game will be known as good rather than great.

Puzzle Quest was a pleasant surprise when it was released on handhelds earlier this year, and this XBLA version gets me excited all over again. The unlikely marriage of puzzle gameplay with RPG mechanics makes for one of the most addictive experiences available on Microsoft's downloadable service. The minor glitches that were apparent in the DS version are nowhere to be found here. It's also a bargain on XBLA, priced at half the amount of the portable versions. If you haven't played Puzzle Quest, yet, this is a definite download. And if you have it's likely you'll fall in love with its seemingly endless set of quests to be accomplished, different classes to try, and new spells to master all over again. Throw in achievements, higher resolution graphics, and online multiplayer -- Puzzle Quest is a marriage that will last.

Whether you’re a fan of the Bleach series or not really doesn’t matter when it comes to Bleach: Blade of Fate. Treasure went all-out in developing a DS fighter that plays, acts, and looks better than any of its competition, and it shows, as Bleach is hands-down the best fighter on the system. We aren’t fans of the anime, we’ve only seen a few episodes in preparation for the game’s coverage, but Bleach still won us over, as it plays extremely well, has tons of options, and pulls off some seriously impressive 2D work on DS. The sheer amount of extravagant attacks and system-filling combos should be enough to win over fans of the anime, but the core gameplay is where Bleach wins over the rest of us, delivering a stronger fighting mechanic than nearly any pocket battler out there (with SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium still holding the title overall). Bleach isn’t perfect, as you’ll still get some cheap juggling combos and players that refuse to learn the actual button combos, instead mashing the touch screen to pull off supers at leisure, but it’s still an impressive package filled with tons of fan service, and a solid mix of depth and entertainment. Bleach: The Blade of Fate is hands-down the best fighter on DS, and one of the top pocket fighters out there. Handheld battlers take note.

Overall NBA Live 08 on PSP is a solid addition to the series, and definitely improves on what we saw from last year’s game. The Crown adds a perpetual accomplishment system that actually does make you want to explore the rest of the game and play modes that you might not otherwise. The online offering adds some solid playability to the game, even if it doesn’t bring the league play of the console versions. While it still plays less like a simulation and more like an arcade game, NBA Live 08 on PSP is fun nonetheless.
