The popularity and charm of Lemmings remains intact on the Lynx, and is still enjoyable even after all this time. With cute graphics and fun sounds to spice up the appeal, this game satisfies all but the most finicky players, while begging for an adaptation of the sequel.

Batman Returns is a respectable action game, and the Lynx version would be equally enjoyable on any other platform. It offers solid action and a serious challenge wrapped up in a hot license, making a package that's guaranteed to sell more Lynxes.

Purists who wanted nothing short of a total, unabridged translation will be disappointed. For everyone else, though, Steel Talons on the Lynx is a joy to play, a very pleasant surprise, and a Herculean effort to be saluted. If the idea of realistic air combat action stirs your blood, buy this game and take off!

And that's where Powerball ultimately lands – it's essentially an old-school Virtual Console version of one of the Wii's major first-party releases from last year. If you're a fan of "combat" sports titles that are over-the-top and unrealistic like Mario Strikers Charged, NBA Jam and (for the obscure reference of the day...) Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball, then Powerball could be 800 Wii Points well spent for you. But if you and your friends have already played Mario Strikers to death since last July, you're probably better off saving those digital dollars for another day.

Warbirds is designed and written by Robert Zdybel, a newcomer to Lynx game design; He dedicates the game to his father, and it's a worthy piece of gaming to be proud of. It's a game that's simple in concept and fun to play. Throw in true simulator realism, a variety of options, and the ability for four-player competition, and the sum is greater than its parts. For the video gamer looking for realistic aerial action, Warbirds leaves eveything else behind.

Quackshot is a good platformer tripped up by some questionable controls. The game is just unnecessarily frustrating in spots, such as the desert scene when you're trying to jump across gaps and land on narrow platforms, and it pulls the game down. If you love Castle of Illusion (and you should), Quackshot isn’t a bad companion piece. Just ratchet down your expectations -- and don't pay too much.

You cannot take anything away from Jackson's musical and performance legacy, but this bit of vanity simply falls apart due to pure laziness. The dance moves are a hoot at the beginning, as are the first few sights of the game's weirdness, but then the whole thing collapses into banality. Everything is stuck on repeat. You may want to rescue this one from a garage sale for the quirk factor, but it will not spend much time in your Genesis.
