Nonostante si tratti di un titolo di discreta fattura, Restaurant Empire 2 non emerge in nessun settore, pur essendo un gestionale ben fatto che non mancherà di soddisfare pienamente i fan del primo capitolo. Dopo averci giocato un bel po' rimane in bocca uno strano sapore, come se la portata servita fosse sì gustosa, ma comunicasse apertamente la mancanza di un qualche ingrediente che l'avrebbe resa un capolavoro. Peccato.

We have seen various business simulation games appear on the gaming menu in recent years. Some are good and others are bad, while a select few are simply downright dreadful. As far as restaurant management games go, Restaurant Empire 2 is good. Compared to the best tycoon games on the market its nothing special, but that said I wouldn't write-off this game completely.

Restaurant Empire 2 is a little tricky to evaluate. On one hand, you’re getting two games that give you glimpses of what it’s like to run dining establishments, both of which manage to essentially get the job don and pack in a story to boot. On the other hand, you’re dealing with the exact same issues from the first game six years later without any changes or adjustments; instead, you’re presented with a slightly different context and a larger assortment of items to play with. It’s still fun, but as far as a sim is concerned, it could’ve gone much farther.

Enlight Software se moquerait-il des adeptes de jeux de gestion ? Après un Hotel Giant 2 qui se montrait bien trop frileux en matière de nouveautés, Restaurant Empire II se révèle n'être qu'une simple redite du premier volet, agrémentée de quelques ajouts mineurs et d'une nouvelle campagne au gameplay inchangé. Six ans d'attente pour une extension déguisée et vendue comme une suite, c'est un peu fort.
