Wargroove est tout ce que l’on pouvait attendre d’un tactical à la Advance Wars : simple d’accès, il devient malgré tout un titre à la profondeur infinie. Avec un contenu de base très costaud dès le départ, Chucklefish promet des dizaines et des dizaines d’heures de jeu, le tout en ajoutant un mode création permettant à la communauté de créer des campagnes aux possibilités folles. Un immanquable en ce début d’année.

Wargroove n'est pas juste un successeur spirituel à la série Advance Wars. Il pousse le concept plus loin grâce à un éditeur de maps et de campagnes des plus permissifs. Avec un gameplay très efficace, des animations et une direction artistique travaillées, et un contenu initial complet, il est difficile de trouver un défaut au jeu de Chucklefish Games, surtout après la mise à jour qui a corrigé les rares problèmes. Si vous appréciez les tactical, on ne voit pas comment vous pourriez faire l'impasse !

Estamos por lo tanto ante un juego que cumple lo que promete. Wargroove se va a convertir por derecho propio en quien recoja el testigo de aquellos juegos que tantas noches de diversión nos dieron pegados a una Nintendo DS. Su estilo fresco pero clásico encaja a la perfección con el tipo de juego que nos propone, recordándonos constantemente a tiempos que aunque no nos atrevemos a decir que fueran mejores, si que son aquellos que sentaron las bases de lo que hoy conocemos. Un homenaje impecable a una época y a unos juegos que echábamos de menos.

Wargroove is the Advance Wars successor its long-neglected fans have been waiting for. It faithfully revives the tactics I loved that series for while putting plenty of its own spins on the concept. Campaign levels do have a tendency to go on longer than they should considering its lack of mid-match saving outside of being able to quit and pick back up where you were later. But when you add in its extra modes, loads of unlockables, and amazing level editor and it’s a game I’m excited to keep playing far past its campaign.

Wargroove has the confidence to stick to simple, familiar gameplay with a few twists, rather than try to wow you with its novelty. While its charming graphics might make it look cute, it offers a vicious challenge that gets a bit uneven at times. If you get into its slower pace and high difficulty, it also offers plenty of alternate game modes and custom campaign creation tools to extend the fun.
