Micro Machines World Series is a great buy for anyone who enjoyed prior entries in the series or simply wants a great racing game that the whole family can enjoy. If you grew up in the early '90s or just have an affinity for the license, it does it justice and delivers a rock-solid racing experience as well. Its mode selection is impressive and there's always something to do if you're tired of racing. Each battle mode mixes things up in interesting ways, while the elimination race keeps you on your A game at all times. While the soundtrack is forgettable, World Series is a visual treat thanks to some impressive texture work along with an impressive depth of field.

Micro Machines World Series è un titolo pensato sia per i vecchi che per i nuovi giocatori cercando di rimanere al passo con le esigenze del giocatore moderno, permettendo divertentissime gare online o offline con gli amici. Il titolo unisce in se’ il feeling dei vecchi giochi a quello dei nuovi giochi online. Consigliato a chi vuole farsi due risate o per i più piccoli che vogliono avvicinarsi al mondo del gaming. Le Micro Machines saranno pure scomparse dai negozi ma rimarranno sempre nei nostri cuori.

L’assenza di una campagna single-player è l’unica mancanza con un certo rilievo all’interno di Micro Machines World Series, che forse avrebbe giustificato ancora di più il prezzo. Gli altri sono perlopiù piccoli difetti portati probabilmente da qualche superficialità durante lo sviluppo. Nulla infatti intacca il divertimento che Micro Machines World Series regala sia online che offline, forse tenendo troppo a freno la quantità di oggetti utilizzabili nelle Gare, ma dotando ogni macchinina di abilità speciali tutte diverse per le altre modalità. L’utilizzo della stessa struttura di Overwatch può essere visto in modo positivo o negativo: è un sistema indubbiamente funzionante e di grande impatto, grazie all’enorme quantità di personalizzazioni, ma in Micro Machines World Series questa impronta sembra troppo evidente. I maliziosi potrebbero dunque pensare al plagio. Comunque sia, Micro Machines World Series è un pozzo dei divertimenti in grado di catturare sia i fan di una volta che i nuovi giocatori. Una formula che ha sempre funzionato nel mondo dei giochi che si avvicinano al genere dei party game, ma che mantengono anche una certa continuità nello stile. Insomma, da avere.

Micro Machines World Series no hace nada especialmente mal, pero no hace demasiadas cosas como para estar a la altura de sus orígenes. La propuesta de Codemasters se queda corta en cuanto a la experiencia para un jugador y en las carreras tradicionales, y tampoco destaca especialmente en cuanto al resto de sus posibilidades. Esto hace que nos encontremos ante un juego correcto y entretenido, sobre todo si somos conductores sociales, pero que nos gustaría hubiera tenido una dosis extra de profundidad. Aún con esas, su bajo precio podría hacer que fuera una propuesta interesante para los calores del verano que se avecinan.

inceramente non ci sentiamo di consigliarvi l’acquisto di questo Micro Machines al prezzo attualmente proposto, seppure i difetti non siano troppi e la realizzazione, nel complesso, resti comunque più che sufficiente. Il problema vero è che, probabilmente (ve lo diciamo da primi nostalgici della serie), questo genere di videogame non ha più lo stesso appeal che poteva avere diversi anni fa e questo è un vero peccato. Se volete provarlo, potete comunque acquistare Micro Machines World Series su PS4, Xbox One e Steam ad un prezzo di 29,90€.

On ne va pas se le cacher, Micro Machines World Series est loin de ce que l’on attendait. Si le plaisir est immédiat, il ne dure pas longtemps, la faute à un contenu quasi inexistant. Aucune originalité n’est proposée et si l’on n’accroche ni au gameplay, ni à sa vue particulière, on lâchera le titre au bout de quelques minutes, surtout qu’il ne dispose d’aucune composante solo intéressante. Bref, c’est bien dommage parce que Micro Machines World Series avait tout pour plaire au premier abord.

Codemasters had good intentions with the latest instalment of Micro Machines, but their decision to concentrate on the Battle Modes instead of refining the racing aspect of the game will ultimately cost them in the long run. As a result, World Series has ended up being a ‘jack of all trades’ game. Rather than perfecting one aspect it attempts to cover everything, ruining the game in the process. If you are craving the true Micro Machines experience, try booting up one of the older games instead.

On attendait pas du génie de Micro Machines World Series, mais on attendait au moins du fun. En ratant des éléments comme la caméra et les collisions, le titre de Codemasters gâche la fête avec un gameplay chaotique qui manque de pêche. Le contenu, quant à lui, est tout bonnement dramatique avec trois modes, peu de véhicules/tracés et un jeu en ligne cassé. Une belle sortie de route, en somme.
