Solasta: Crown of the Magister may become one of my favorite CRPGs ever, though it isn’t there yet. Its adaptation of D&D 5th edition is as impressive as it is incomplete. Its campaign is as mechanically creative as it is narratively uninspired. I had a great time playing through this game, and I look forward to doing so again with a new party composition, but it’s unmistakable that this game is not finished cooking yet.

Senza girarci attorno, Idol Manager è complesso fin dall'inizio. Lo sconsigliamo a chi approccia per la prima volta il genere dei gestionali ma è senza dubbio un'ottima sfida per gli appassionati. Non fatevi ingannare, dietro l'apparente aspetto "kawaii" e l'idea di un'esperienza volta più al dating sim che non alla conduzione di un'azienda si nasconde, invece, un gioco che non vi farà sconti: difficile, forse un po' troppo persino ai livelli di difficoltà più bassi, valorizza i suoi aspetti gestionali e strategici senza scadere nella ripetitività o nella monotonia. Non c'è un freno al modo in cui possiamo gestire la scalata al successo e il fatto di poter essere delle persone spietate, senza alcuna cura per le ragazze, dà un valore aggiunto al gioco che non teme così di mostrare l'industria dell'intrattenimento per quello che potenzialmente è.

All in all, The Ascent is a lot of fun at times, but there’s just something about it that doesn’t quite stick for me. Combat is fast, with the three height system technically offering up more options for arenas, but I found this aspect to be generally underused. Initially complex looking, the upgrades and skill trees are simple to follow, albeit underwhelming in use. But there’s no denying just how pretty it all is, and as a next gen showpiece it delivers here. I just can’t see myself being drawn back to it long in the long term.

Cris Tales may not be as feature heavy as the JRPG classics it takes inspiration from, but it oozes whimsical charm with a vibrant anime aesthetic and a likeable cast. The gameplay, while serviceable, may get stale towards the end, but Cris Tales is still a title I'd recommend taking a chance on.

Trigger Witch’s twin-stick action and RPG elements scream for a more defined identity, but that’s more than made up for by the game’s incredible aesthetic discipline. A lesser development studio would have tried to run with the idea of G-rated fantasy with [REFUSED CLASSIFICATION], but Trigger Witch is clever enough to let it all happen naturally. It’s a loud, proud, blood cloud of an action game that anybody with an interest in the genre needs to check out.
