Ys IX Monstrum Nox arriva su Nintendo Switch, la versione provata, dopo essere stato ben accolto su PlayStation 4 pochi mesi fa. L’ottavo capitolo ufficiale della serie punta decisamente tutto sulla trama, articolata, complessa ed ottimamente scritta, con un Battle System collaudato e raffinato. Alcune feature aggiunte e mutuate da altre produzioni di Nihon Falcom, per quanto interessanti, paiono funzionare meno bene, e potrebbero non piacere ai puristi della saga. Il titolo offre un sonoro allo stato dell’arte, scritto da quattro esperti musicisti del settore, ma, per contro, anche un comparto grafico sottotono che pare provenire direttamente dalla scorsa generazione di hardware. La cosa interessa poco agli amanti della filosofia ruolistica, specie quelli di vecchia data, a cui una immagine fissa del nemico bastava a sapere che si stava combattendo, ma alle nuove generazioni, affamate di poligoni e texture raffinatissime, potrebbe non andare giù. Peccato, perché si tratta senza dubbio di uno dei migliori Action RPG di questa generazione, da non perdere assolutamente.

Die großen Stärken von Minute of Islands sind die wunderbar erzählte Geschichte, die handgezeichneten Kulissen in einem großartigen Comic-Stil und der eindringliche Soundtrack. Dabei zieht einen der ungewöhnliche Kontrast von niedlichen Meereskreaturen und hübschen Stränden zu unheimlichen Riesen und toten Walen in den Bann. Einige Szenen erinnern sogar entfernt an surrealistische Kunst wie die von Salvador Dali. Die Story glänzt mit vielen fantasiereichen Ideen, einer tiefgründigen, bedrückenden Thematik und einem ungewöhnlichen Ende, das einen nachdenklich, aber auch zufrieden zurücklässt. Die Rätsel bleiben dabei kleine Spielereien ohne größere Herausforderung. Zudem wiederholen sie sich in den knapp sechs Stunden Spielzeit recht häufig. Somit sollten vor allem Fans von erzählerischen Spielen ein Auge auf dieses lohnenswerte Indie-Abenteuer werfen.

GreedFall era e rimane un ottimo gioco di ruolo d'azione, divertente e con un'ambientazione di qualità. Ancora adesso, quindi, consigliamo il gioco base, addirittura più della Gold Edition. Considerando che l'upgrade tecnico a PS5 (realmente utile solo per i 60 FPS) è gratuito, non crediamo abbia senso spendere soldi per un DLC - The De Vespe Conspiracy - della durata di due ore che nulla aggiunge al gioco originale.
