When the Past was Around ist eine kurze und emotionale Geschichte über Suche, Sinn, Liebe und Verlust. Sie wird nur in Form von Bildern und Musik einfach und klar erzählt, beherbergt jedoch einige schöne Details, die Spielräume für Interpretation und eigene Gedanken lassen. Das Puzzle-Spiel lebt vor allem von seinen bezaubernden Bildern und dem leichten, stimmungsvollen Soundtrack. Trotz fehlender Sprachausgabe kann man sich in die zarte Liebesgeschichte von Eda und Owl hineinversetzen, ohne dass einem die Charaktere jedoch zu nah kommen. Dazu trägt vor allem Owl als Chimäre aus Eule und Mensch bei, was der Geschichte eine märchenhafte, surreale Ebene verleiht. Die Rätsel selbst sind größtenteils leider keine Herausforderung. Hinzu kommt in einingen Momenten eine etwas umständliche bzw. unpräzise Steuerung der Nintendo Switch. Nach etwa zwei Stunden ist die Reise durch die Erinnerungen einer traurig-schönen Liebesgeschichte dann auch schon wieder vorbei.

Override 2: Super Mech League è un titolo che deve essere acquistato solo da chi apprezzi in modo particolare il mondo dei mecha, e in secondo luogo (solo in secondo luogo) il genere dei picchiaduro. La produzione vanta notevoli aspetti positivi: tanti robot e tutti originali, molti stili di combattimento, aree di gioco variegate e visivamente neanche sgradevoli, modalità differenti e un sistema di progressione che tutto sommato se la cava, anche sul medio periodo. Ma i difetti sono troppi, e troppo vistosi: una telecamera da manicomio che impedisce la corretta fruizione del titolo, la dimensione delle arene ridicola ed inspiegabile, alcune problemi tecnici, prevalentemente legati al frame rate ballerino. Se a tutto questo si aggiunge un gameplay sì interessante e stimolante, ma di certo non indimenticabile né imprescindibile, è facile capire quale sarà il destino di Override 2: essere cioè dimenticato tra un paio di mesi. Ad andarci cauti.

Override 2: Super Mech League changes the formula for the story mode from its predecessor in a way that isn’t my favorite. That doesn’t take away from the stunning visuals this 3D brawler gives us. Unfortunately it seems Override 2: Super Mech League was banking on online play and I had a tough time finding opponents. Luckily bot matches can supplement our need to finish sponsor tasks but ultimately the game could use a bit more life.

Override 2: Super Mech League has made significant improvements to the original, but it's still lacking in many departments to be an easy recommend. If you can brush off its flaws, Override 2 is scrappy fun, especially with friends. Who doesn't dig giant robots engaging in fisticuffs? With a giant robot-sized frying pan?

Unto the End doesn’t mess about, and that will likely divide opinion on it. I don’t think I’ll eve see the end as it’s just too much of a challenge for me, but I absolutely can see the care and work that has gone into making it, and how well put together it is. If you’re into that other game then this 2D side scroller should be on your radar. Just be prepared to have a proper run of things.

Among Us is an instantly accessible and super-addictive casual gaming experience that serves up some hilarious whodunnit hijinks in short bursts that are perfectly suited to portable play. There are a few niggles here with regards to controls that make communication fussier than it really needs to be, but this is a fine port that finally enables Switch gamers to jump in and see what all the fuss is about with this most unlikely of gaming sensations.
