Even The Ocean has some good ideas within, from the polarising energy mechanic to the OK platforming. But it all feels like it’s trying too hard to wrangle a heavy tale out and as such end up bogged down under characters that waffle on for too long, and boring interludes between levels that add very little to the experience.

Waar de sportwereld dit jaar dus aan veel verandering onderhevig is, valt dit voor Madden NFL 21 niet te zeggen. Fans schreeuwen al jaren om veranderingen, maar ook dit jaar lijkt EA slechts het minimale te hebben gedaan. The Yard heeft potentieel uit te groeien tot een interessante modus en Madden NFL 21 is nog steeds de beste American Football-game, maar dat ligt eerder aan gebrek van concurrentie dan aan eigen verdiensten.
