Despite its downfalls and legacy design issues, I simply cannot put down PGA Tour 2K21. Much like the previous Golf Club title, this is a golf game with smidgen of the PGA Tour tacked on it. MyPLAYER is designed to be a individualistic experience, but a lack of depth on the branded items and the fact that there’s no leveling up the player leaves the long-term aspect in question. Couple that with a season that is mostly full of fantasy courses with some mid-tier PGA Tour courses thrown in and those expecting a full on PGA experience will be disappointed. What matters the most here, however, is the golf and the proper representation of a golf broadcast. The addiction of building confidence until you find that sweet spot and the ability to nail shots that you crafted in your mind makes it worth it. Just avoid higher difficulties until you get comfortable, but I also feel getting too serious about your play style may ruin the experience that’s otherwise extremely fun. In the end PGA Tour 2K21 is a great game of golf and a promising start to the new franchise, and with 2K onboard, we should continue to see more of the PGA positively implemented in the future.

PGA Tour 2K21 is hands down one of the best-playing golf games in the last decade. HB Studios has fine-tuned its formula while giving players enough options to find that sweet spot of challenge and accessibility. The overall presentation doesn’t really feel like a fully licensed sports game, and its career mode lacks in drama, but at least it’s a 2K Sports game that isn’t squeezing players for every cent. If you’ve taken a break from golf games, PGA Tour 2K21 is the best excuse to jump back into the genre.

Se questo titolo voleva rappresentare un nuovo inizio per la saga di simulazioni golfistiche, allora dobbiamo dire che si è riusciti a lanciare la palla sul green. Si tratta di un gioco eccellente ed attualmente minato da una poca varietà di modalità disponibili, la cui unica opzione realmente degna di nota è la carriera, tuttavia anch'essa molto ripetitiva e con meno profondità di quanto ci saremmo aspettati. PGA Tour 2K21 è un titolo con una curva di apprendimento molto alta e con notevoli opzioni di accessibilità, caratteristiche che lo rendono un titolo perfetto per tutti gli appassionati di questo sport, sia che abbiano mai giocato ad un titolo simulativo o che siano esperti. Perché il golf, lo abbiamo detto, è per tutti.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is a clever and neatly crafted puzzle game that could do with some richer presentation and another layer of intricacy. Not quite a blinder, but worth a peek.

Con le sue decine di giochi dentro il gioco e uno spassoso humor, Battletoads è nel complesso una piacevole sorpresa: un titolo che rappresenta un unicum nell'offerta first-party di Microsoft sia su Xbox One che su PC, e che dimostra come, nei panni di publisher, la casa di Redmond punti soprattutto sull'ampiezza e sulla diversità della sua proposta videoludica. Al netto di qualche peccato di gioventù, come un approfondimento maggiore di alcune meccaniche che non avrebbe guastato e l'assenza del multiplayer online (giustificata almeno parzialmente), l'opera prima di Dlala è promossa e consigliata, e chissà che la storia d'amore con Rare non sia che agli inizi.

C'est dommage, voilà sans doute la phrase qui vous restera en tête après avoir terminé Battletoads. Car le titre avance au départ tous les arguments digne d'un jeu varié, déjanté et solide (sans parler des cinématiques animées à l'écriture et au rythme très réussis). Mais on déchante quand les phases les plus engageantes (beat 'em up et shoot 'em up) cessent de se renouveler, et que Battletoads tente de sauver le navire avec de toutes petites séquences de jeu, parfois bonnes mais parfois totalement ratées. Il en résulte un jeu très contrasté, qui vaut tout de même la peine d'être fait, plutôt en multi qu'en solo (jusqu'à trois joueurs en local et pas de mode en ligne). On aurait juste préféré que ce soit le gameplay et la progression par le jeu qui nous pousse à avancer. Pas forcément les cinématiques et l'histoire totalement loufoque des trois grenouilles.
