¿Qué tenemos entre manos? Ese interesante híbrido de shooter y Minecraft, con hordas de enemigos, muchos disparos y sobre todo, centrado en la recolección y posterior uso de las ganancias para mejorar nuestro personaje y sus armas y herramientas. Simple (en concepto, que no fácil en ejecución) y efectivo. Si os gusta este estilo de títulos, este es una inversión segura. Y además, luce de maravilla. Feliz minería.

Infinite – Beyond the Mind è una vera e propria lettera d’amore ai classici giochi d’azione e platform. Sposiamo in toto questa definizione che è poi la stessa che – al momento dell’esordio del gioco – l’autrice Emilie Coyo ha dato. Il titolo è un omaggio e questi classici e non fa nulla per discostarsi troppo dalle “linee guida” offrendo di contro un’azione molto interessante, a tratti frenetica, a tratti un po’ difficile ma sempre in grado di portare i più nostalgici a dei dolci ricordi di un tempo che fu. Un po’ Metal Slug, un po’ Shinobi, un po’ Ninja Warriors, con l’aspetto rotondissimo della grafica in pixel art stile Chibi ed una colonna sonora chip tune da urlo, questo gioco fa al caso dei più nostalgici. Ma è la colonna sonora in chiptune che ricorda le sonorità del Sid è veramente di grandissimo livello. Gli appassionati del genere apprezzeranno. Non ci sono troppi difetti da imputare al gioco salvo – ma questo non incide nell’esperienza – la narrazione della storia. Voi direte perché? Presto detto: nonostante si scelga la lingua italiana ed i sottotitoli siano effettivamente nella nostra lingua, quando si legge l’arco narrativo in alcune scene di intermezzo, leggiamo il testo nella lingua d’oltralpe. Inoltre, alcuni passaggi risultano veramente complicati anche se non impossibili. Ma a tratti sembra una difficoltà ingiustificata. Riteniamo, infine, la longevità congrua al genere platform anche se – al giorno d’oggi – la durata degli stage sia molto risicata.

GORN can definitely be a fun night in where you can grab a beer, kick back and lay carnage with a big grin on your face. There are enough weapons available and a plethora of settings and presets in the Endless Mode to keep you distracted for a while. GORN is not trying to be more than what it is and I appreciate that. I think it’s also an easier game to jump into compared to some of the more involved VR experiences out there. However, offering more options for movement, controls, modes and customization would have made that $24.95 AUD asking price slightly more tantalizing. Brutal fisticuffs with your mates would have been even sweeter, but I guess we all need to practice social distancing, even in VR.

Roguelikes aren't for everyone, but The Persistence manages to show that a few tweaks to the usual experience can make wonders for accessibility. With a great atmosphere, intriguing setting, and great mechanics that allow for a variety of play styles, The Persistence is a more than worthy game for both roguelike diehards and those looking to finally get into the genre.

With a simple but engaging upgrade system; enough weapons and gadgets to make James Bond blush; and a great parrying mechanic that brings an unexpected rhythmic element to combat, this is one title that warrants a purchase even without any fancy VR setup. Repetition with enemy variety and level structure may mar the experience for some players, but it’s easy to overlook these faults when the core game has so much to offer.

Golf With Your Friends est un jeu de minigolf complet, jouable en solo comme en multijoueur où il prendra son véritable sens. En effet avec des amis ou en famille, attendez-vous à de franches rigolades sur les 11 parcours mis à votre disposition dans des ambiances variées grâce aux différents paramétrages que vous pouvez effectuer (bonus/malus). Le jeu est complet et ne souffre pas de bugs notables, preuve que cette longue période d’accès anticipé n’aura pas été inutile. Il est dommage que le jeu ne dispose pas d’un éditeur de niveaux avec des patterns prédéfinis afin de créer un espace communautaire qui allongerait la durée de vie du titre déjà bien fournie avec ses modes de jeu classiques, basket ou hockey. Un jeu à acheter sans hésiter si vous voulez passer de bons moments.
