Having an entire game revolve around talking is an interesting premise and Night School Studio has already proven it to work with their previous release. Yet despite its appealing setting in the underworld, Afterparty somehow managed to lose my interest near the final stretch. It frequently attempts to be funny but sadly misses the ball on more than one occasion and suffers for it. Add in some technical issues here and there for a game that shouldn’t be high-demanding on paper and I can only state that it felt like a slight disappointment after the superior writing and execution of Oxenfree. I would still recommend a playthrough for fans of the genre, but set your expectations accordingly.

Iro Hero is everything you expect with a vertical shooter in that it’s tough, fast-paced and repetitive. The extra mechanic of changing colour is fun to use, and it does test your reflexes and gives you a bit more chance of completing the game. There is not a great deal of content to keep you interested in the long haul, but it still a good enough game for you to jump in straight away and get going.

In a genre where all you need to do to be even average is to copy what everyone else is doing, Furious Racing somehow still fails at doing that. It just isn’t fun. It really begs the question: Why go to the effort of making a game with the Garfield license, in a certain genre, if you’re not going to use said license or genre in any kind of interesting way? Was there a Garfield Kart-sized hole in 2019’s release slate? I’d argue no.

Juego de notable acabado que disfrutaremos y recordaremos. Una buena compra, muy recomendable para amantes del género. Está bien cuidado a todos los niveles.

Exit the Gungeon si presenta come uno spin-off affascinante, dotato di un'ottima rigiocabilità e di un grado di sfida molto consistente, a volte anche troppo. Le meccaniche action platform risultano solide e ben implementate, i nemici sono numerosi e sorprende la scelta di modificare concretamente l'esperienza a seconda dei controlli utilizzati, touch o fisici: nel primo caso è possibile godere di qualche aiuto in più, nel secondo caso incorrere nel game over diventa praticamente un'abitudine a dispetto della maggiore prontezza e precisione dei comandi. Visivamente gradevolissimo grazie a eccellenti soluzioni in pixel art, il titolo di Dodge Roll rappresenta senza dubbio un valido passatempo in attesa del prossimo episodio della serie, nonché un download obbligato per gli abbonati ad Apple Arcade.

SaGa Scarlet Grace : Ambitions est un RPG sorti en 2016 au Japon. Malgré un manque certain d'exploration, le côté stratégique des combats est parfaitement réalisé. Le jeu dispose d'une histoire riche et complète avec de multiples branches qui peuvent parfaitement changer la trame de l'histoire principale. La bande-son change pour chaque personnage que l'on incarne ce qui empêche que l'on se lasse rapidement si l'on souhaite jouer avec tout le monde. Malheureusement, le jeu est fait pour ceux ayant un très bon niveau d'anglais, afin de comprendre toute l'histoire dans son intégralité.

Remote Life senza troppi giri di parole è un grande capolavoro. Una perla indie italiana che parla inglese visto che il titolo è localizzato nella lingua di Albione. Ma chiaramente questo non è un problema anche perché nel corso del gameplay sarà del tutto ininfluente. Ed i pochi che ascoltiamo nonché le informazioni di inizio livello sono piuttosto abbordabili. Mario Malagrino è spuntato dal nulla con questo suo titolo che omaggia i grandi del passato già ampiamente citati nel corso della nostra recensione. Un gioco umanamente quasi perfetto che offre divertimento e sfida. Unite una direzione artistica di grandissimo pregio grazie anche ad un sapiente utilizzo dei tool di sviluppo. Abbiamo detto quasi perfetto. Si perché manca la possibilità di giocare al fianco di un amico. Andare a caccia di alieni in buona compagnia fa sempre piacere. Inoltre, Remote Life a tratti è veramente difficile anche se quest’ultimo dettaglio è comunque soggettivo. Scelta obbligata se siete amanti degli shoot’em up vecchio stile. Titolo che, però, è anche in grado di offrire alcune piccole varianti al gameplay per rinverdirne la giocabilità. Sicuramente, una delle più grandi, e gradite, sorprese di questo 2019

In the end, even though I experienced some technical issues due to my PC's CPU, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Detroit: Become Human, and after only little fiddling in the settings, I managed to find an acceptable compromise for great gaming sessions. Thanks to the brilliant presentation on all fronts and enthralling narrative, I stopped noticing the few hiccups here and there and lost myself in a not-so-futuristic tale of very personal stakes and development.

Blacksad: Under the Skin holds promise, and it makes good on a few ideas. The noir storytelling is appropriately entertaining, and the gameplay manages to hold up, even if it doesn’t strive for much. However, the inconsistent graphics and terrible performance mar what would otherwise be a solid little adventure.
