Abbiamo dovuto aspettare più di due anni per l’arrivo di Ys IX: Monstrum Nox in Europa, ma fortunatamente l’attesa e le aspettative sono state totalmente ripagate. Il nono capitolo del franchise Nihon Falcom è infatti un ottimo esponente della saga, la software house ha saputo riutilizzare al meglio alcuni degli elementi già visti in passato mischiandoli con un sistema di esplorazione davvero unico. Girare per la città di Balduq alla ricerca di collezionabili è infatti un ottimo intermezzo tra le battaglie frenetiche a cui noi fan del franchise siamo ormai abituati, dandoci così piacevoli attimi di respiro tra uno scontro e l’altro. Certo, tecnicamente potrebbe far storcere il naso a tutti i puristi dell’innovazione grafica. Ma ciò non toglie che si tratti di un titolo di tutto rispetto che, seppur con un comparto visivo modesto, riesce nel suo intento: quello di far divertire il giocatore e tenerlo incollato allo schermo per scoprire cosa accadrà nella trama principale. Quella di Adol Christin è un’avventura magistrale, e non fa altro che mettermi curiosità sul possibile futuro del franchise, magari su console di nuova generazione.

Peu de prise de risque pour ce quatrième opus de la saga Ys. Mais il est clairement indispensable à votre collection si vous êtes amoureux de J-RPG bien punchy ! Linéaire et pas très joli sont ses deux principaux défauts, cependant le reste est un véritable bonbon à déguster sans modération pendant des heures de bonheur aux commandes d'Adol et de ses nombreuses quêtes.

FIFA has never been better, at least on the pitch. Volta is fun in small doses, but those looking to play something other than Ultimate Team will be inevitably disappointed in the lack of variation in offline modes. Those who are in it for the thrill of opening a pack and getting a star player, or who simply love collecting cards and playing football matches with their new additions will find a lot to love, at least until next season when it all begins again.

The sequel Groundhog Day never had comes with a similarly redemptive ark, a witty script, and some mini-games that should never have seen the light of day.

FIFA 20 doesn't reinvent the game of soccer, but it does an admirable job of reinventing how its played. New game modes, animations, and improved player and ball physics make this the best soccer game on the market.

There was a lot of potential for Code Vein to end up little more than a mediocre Dark Souls clone dressed in anime clothing, and yet, it’s actually kinda, sorta, pretty good. The game mixes some long-established gameplay qualities with a totally engrossing class system and a story that’s more enjoyable than it has any right to be. Code Vein won’t be for everyone, even if you’re a Souls fan, but if the overall idea sounds appealing, the execution might surprise you.

Code Vein parece un punto perfecto de entrada al género de los "souls like". Es un RPG más accesible en el combate y en la narrativa, pero conserva todos los elementos esenciales (tanto en el diseño de mapas, como en los enemigos finales, la mejora con experiencia...). Algunos fallos técnicos le impiden llegar más alto.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox brings a wide array of impressive gameplay elements in concert with a wonderful cast of characters to make an exhilarating, thoughtful package that’s one of the series’ best.
