Disney Illusion Island avait tout pour être un titre immanquable de l'été. L'exploitation de la bande de Mickey est à la fois une porte ouverte pour les plus jeunes mais également une madeleine de Proust des plus anciens, nostalgiques des jeux de plateforme de l'ère SNES/Megadrive. Le choix de l'esthétique de la série bien plus absurde et loufoque de Mickey promettait ce brin de folie qui pouvait de plus créer un véritable must have familial. Malheureusement, le titre ne parviendra qu'à vous décrocher qu'un ou deux sourires tout au plus. Finalement, Illusion Island est très anecdotique et ne parvient pas à se hisser à la hauteur d'autres titres du genre. A moins de ne vouloir consommer que des produits Disney, nous ne pouvons que vous conseiller d'acquérir d'autres jeux Metroidvania plus anciens à la place de celui-ci.

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is a very cutesy platforming game that does it’s job surprisingly well. The “speed tech” taught is simple but effective and the variety of level types was a pleasant surprise. The art style and the story are nothing to write home about and certainly won’t appeal to all but platforming fans who admire gameplay are encouraged to give the pirates a run for their money. It doesn’t really overstay it’s welcome (underwater levels aside) and the levels feel bite-sized which was nice. A fun game to just pick up and play for bits at a time.

Mignon mais pas désuet, étonnant sans pour autant être bouleversant, Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara est dans l’ensemble de son ADN assez ambivalent. Pratique pour passer de bonnes sessions rigolotes et légères où le challenge n’est jamais bien loin, le jeu de Chibig surprend d’efficacité tout en nous proposant un spin-off d’une licence qui a tout pour prospérer dans les années à venir. Adepte du speedrunning, perfectionniste ou joueur casual, tout le monde y trouvera son compte, l’accessibilité étant au cœur de l’expérience voulue par les développeurs. Mention spéciale à l’univers coloré, chatoyant, sans bug et parfaitement cohérent qui nous est proposé, à défaut d’y retrouver un mode multijoueur ou un renouvellement des musicalités suffisant en mer ou sur l’île principale. Un titre à petit prix, parfait pour passer l’été, si tant est que l’on soit attiré par ce genre de productions.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series is a solid entry in the studio’s long-running series of narrative-driven games. The episodes look great, and Cara Gee’s performance as the main character is excellent, helping to recreate the feel of the television series even when the most of the regular characters from the show are absent. The game struggles to find engaging mechanics outside of its dialogue scenes, relying too heavily on quicktime events and mediocre movement challenges. But the story and choices you make work well enough that these are minor faults.

Es una pena que Remnant 2 no haga más ruido, porque verdaderamente es uno de los RPG de acción más notables de los últimos tiempos y si eres de los que disfrutan explorando los secretos de los juegos, este tiene el potencial de marcarte como muy pocos. Te gustará por sus gráficos, su jugabilidad, su progresión y sus jefes; una secuela para el recuerdo, aunque de salida trae algunas inconsistencias de balance y de rendimiento que habrá que ver si terminan solucionándose a medida que llegan los parches o no.

Con Remnant 2 gli sviluppatori non hanno trovato ancora la formula perfetta, ma hanno sicuramente compiuto dei bei passi in avanti. Al netto di una direzione artistica altalenante e alcuni difetti di natura tecnica, questo sparatutto con elementi procedurali offre un livello di rigiocabilità che solo pochissimi esponenti del genere possono vantare, al punto da riuscire a stupire anche dopo svariate partite completate. Se amate le grandi sfide, specialmente in co-op, fatelo vostro.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an amazing game, looking and running even better on PC. However, this version does come with caveats and even some downgrades such as crashing and slightly different weapon functionality. PS5 is still the best way to play, but for those who adore the series like me it’s well worth double dipping.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart feels like a new revival episode of a long-dormant Saturday morning cartoon show. It sticks to its guns to placate to existing fans and offer just enough of newness to try and court new fans. Rift Apart is also a big tech demo to show off the power of the PS5. And depending on how your PC specs are measured, it may convince you to get a PS5 by the few little things the PC port doesn’t get right, or make you content in waiting a couple of years before being able to sample the PlayStation Studios catalogue with your beefed-up setup. Whatever dimension the duo may land in, on whatever platform you may be playing Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, I can guarantee that it’s going to be a jolly good time. (And that’s the cue for you, the readers that are in agreement with my review to say “You said it, pal”)

Gylt è quel classico gioco appena sufficiente che prende di peso elementi dei classici dell’horror e li trasporta in un’opera che punta a un pubblico di giovanissimi, quasi a voler essere un entry level del genere horror. Il problema è che tutto ciò che fa è molto basilare e derivativo a partire dalla trama fino a un gameplay spogliato di qualsiasi elemento survival e di quella tensione classica del genere. Un’occasione sprecata, specie considerando che i ragazzi di Tequila Works qualche anno fa ci deliziavano tutti con il poetico Rime, era lecito aspettarsi qualcosa in più.
