Zombie Panic in Wonderland è uno shooter arcade con dinamiche di gioco semplici, ma non per questo non godibili. Il titolo offre un discreto livello di strategia, necessario per usare con coscienza le munizioni a nostra disposizione e per distruggere con il giusto tempismo gli elementi scenici, così da eliminare più mostri alla volta. Il multiplayer in co-op è una buona alternativa di gioco in compagnia, anche una gestione dei record migliore di quella offerta da Akaoni avrebbe potuto vivacizzare le cose. Ma con una trama originale e ironica, ed un comparto tecnico che non sfigura, per gli amanti degli sparatutto Zombie Panic in Wonderland è una buon titolo, da tenere in considerazione.

Il titolo prodotto da Rising Star Games non fa altro che confermare l’ottimo stato di forma e la grande intelligenza di questo publisher. Avalon Code è un ottimo GDR action che intrigherà non solo gli amanti del genere, ma anche tutti coloro alla ricerca di un gioco leggermente diverso dal solito. La trama e la meccanica legata ai Codici sono due elementi azzeccati capaci di motivare continuamente il videogiocatore. A questi vanno poi aggiunti un combat system in tempo reale non troppo profondo, ma funzionale e divertente, una longevità più che buona e un comparto grafico-sonoro di prim’ordine. Se stavate aspettando l’ennesimo must have per DS, l’avete appena trovato. Evitatelo solo se siete allergici al genere, se non potete sopportare l’idea che il mondo, per essere migliore, deve prima essere distrutto o se l’inglese per voi è una lingua sconosciuta. Sfortunatamente infatti, manca la localizzazione nella nostra lingua.

PowderKeg is probably one of the most fun modes I have played in a long while. Once again two teams play against each other, one has two objectives points which they need to blow up using barrels of explosive that are dotted around the map for you to use. The second team must, at all costs, protect these objectives. You're probably wondering where, exactly, does this become funny? Well, much like the, Gold Bags, if you are carrying a barrel of explosives you can only walk and can no longer use any weapons... So what could go wrong with that? Well, should the barrel be hit while you're holding it, you become a walking time bomb with only approximately five seconds to drop it, or you will become roast chicken. All in all there is very little wrong with this game. Yeah so sometimes you may find that there are spawn campers picking you off before you even had a chance to get out of spawn but a few TNT's will soon sort these guys out. The main thing I would say is the lag that you can sometimes find on servers. This is because these are hosted by one of the players. You may find that at certain points of the night you may not be able to get a lag free game or even onto a server at all. Hopefully though dedicated servers will sort this out and I feel will make a huge difference to the lag free gaming we all want. For £9.99/$14.99/€14.99 you're not going to go wrong with this game. Some of the gamers I tested this with have compared this to the likes of Team Fortress 2 and while I can see why a lot of people have done this, I think that this game can stand its own with this game; the developers have done a lot of work from the Beta such as fixing bugs and more importantly listening to the communities ideas and feedback which proves that they are doing a great job on this game and I cant wait to see more.

Episodes From Liberty City offre, pour 35€ seulement, 25 heures de jeu d'une grande intensité. Loin d'être de simples bonus, les missions proposées apportent un gameplay à deux-roues nettement amélioré dans Lost and Damned et innovent avec l'apparition du Base Jump dans Gay Tony. Riches, variés, introduisant des personnages attachants et charismatiques, ces deux épisodes doivent impérativement finir dans la ludothèque des possesseurs de GTA IV. Pour faire les choses dans l'ordre, les autres peuvent toujours se rattraper et s'offrir GTA IV (pas obligatoire pour faire tourner Episodes From Liberty City) à tarif préférentiel (environ 30€) avant de se procurer ce pack additionnel. Au final, pour 65€ tout compris, ils pourront bénéficier d'environ 100 heures de jeu dans l'univers de Liberty City. Merci Rockstar.

Combat Zone : Special Forces ne révolutionne clairement pas le genre du FPS mais alors qu’il aurait pu apparaître comme un petit jeu online à 20€, il s’avère être un titre plutôt mauvais, pas fun du tout et qui, de surcroît, s’avère être un gros copier-coller de F.E.A.R (sorti 5 ans auparavant) en termes de graphismes. Cela rend le jeu trop sombre et ce n’est pas le level design qui sauvera la production de City Interactive. A ce prix-là, autant se rabattre sur le multi de F.E.A.R qui reste de très bonne facture ou plus simplement sur un Call of Duty Modern Warfare qui aura le mérite d’avoir plus de 10 joueurs sur ses serveurs.

Così come nei migliori episodi della serie maggiore, in Rune Factory: Frontier il tutto è sempre maggiore della somma delle parti, perché aggiunge alla struttura di gioco la partecipazione di un giocatore che non può sfuggire alla magia dei suoi ritmi ed al fascino del suo aspetto. L’introduzione della componente ruolistica è un valore aggiunto della produzione, che rompe un po’ la monotonia della vita di campagna, e supporta con una trama finalmente abbastanza articolata un gameplay che, nella sua semplicità, riesce ad essere fresco ed accessibile. L’eccessiva complessità in tal ambito è inutile, tediosa, pertanto il titolo Neverland punta forte su altre caratteristiche, ma ciò non vuol dire che risulti poco profondo, e la tonnellata di possibilità riservate al giocatore sono lì a testimoniarlo. Rune Factory: Frontier potrebbe essere l’occasione buona per chi non è mai riuscito a conciliarsi con le peculiarità della serie di Harvest Moon: un’occasione davvero da non sprecare.

There were a few moments I yelled at the TV while playing Dead to Rights: Retribution, but those moments that actually elicited an emotion passed relatively quickly. In the end, I remember Jack’s “so bad it’s good” dialogue and the Shadow missions more than anything else. From there, Dead to Rights: Retribution is just another third-person shooter. Go here, kill them, do it again. It’s rough around the edges –- shadows look like crap on people’s faces and the enemies aren’t smart –- but it could be worse. Of course, that also means that it could be a lot better.
