So while Earthworm Jim 2 scores for being one of the wackiest, most nonsensical games ever created thanks to its absolutely ridiculous array of characters, locations and slightly disgusting imagery, it doesn't manage to surpass its predecessor in any significant way in the end. Its over-reliance on specific, one-stage-only game design gimmicks make it feel like you're never getting the chance to play the real game -- and then, when you do, you get disappointed by the odd cuts and control troubles found there, too. This is still a decent effort overall, and one that is certainly still worth a look if you were a fan of the original. But I'd caution against jumping straight into this sequel without already having an established love for Earthworm Jim in place -- if you did, you might just leave confused, eight bucks poorer and wondering how this kind of insanity was ever as popular as it was. (It might be worthwhile, too, to wait around and see what Gameloft does with that EJ1 Remake on WiiWare -- if that ends up being good, a remake of EJ2 could very well follow it and make this VC release obsolete for all but the truly nostalgic.)

L'intention est louable et le nom prestigieux mais L'Esprit du Loup échoue malheureusement dans sa volonté de sensibiliser et d'éduquer. D'un tel produit, on attend des explications, même sommaires et pas simplement la réponse à une question bien précise et parfois complexe. Où sont les illustrations, les photos, voire les vidéos ? Nulle part, on se contentera des questions/réponses. Si c'est pour faire un bête quiz, autant aller sur le net, ça revient moins cher.

Cette note générale conviendra aux joueurs adeptes de défis, elle peut être revue à la baisse si vous êtes sensible à la frustration, ou à la hausse si vous appréciez la qualité de la réflexion qui vous est offerte ou si vous êtes sensible à la bonne facture artistique de ce titre. Malgré l’exigence du gameplay, l'immersion est aisée et vous amènera, si vous le souhaitez, à un degré de réflexion philosophique qui n'est pas commun dans l'univers du jeu vidéo.

Parlare in termini positivi di Rogue Warrior, purtroppo, è impossibile. Pur non presentandosi come lo sparatutto più originale del mondo, il prodotto sviluppato da Rebellion per Bethesda poteva certamente ambire a risultati migliori se si fosse investito di più sul gameplay, sul level design e sull'intelligenza artificiale. La campagna in single player vola via in un paio d'ore scarse, contrapponendo alla brevissima durata una struttura priva di sorprese, contraddistinta da una "sceneggiatura" tragicomica che non trova conforto nella pur buona localizzazione in Italiano. Le "fatality" sono interessanti e le fasi in terza persona aggiungono un pizzico di personalità al gioco, ma tutto il resto cola a picco e non basta certo la presenza di due modalità online a sistemare le cose. Un first person shooter da mangiare in un sol boccone se proprio amate il genere e volete farvi quattro risate, in definitiva: da comprare solo a un prezzo super scontato.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 riesce ad ottenere il massimo risultato col minimo sforzo. Pur essendo senza dubbio la migliore simulazione calcistica su Wii e rappresentando una valida alternativa a tutte le altre versioni agli occhi di chi in un gioco di calcio cerca il controllo totale ed un maggior feeling da allenatore, il titolo Konami non introduce praticamente nessuna novità di rilievo rispetto alla sua precedente incarnazione. Augurandoci un maggiore sforzo creativo e magari qualche ritocco alle meccaniche finora più deboli, come la fase difensiva e la gestione dei tiri in porta, non possiamo fare altro per ora che consigliare l'acquisto del titolo a chiunque disponga solo di un Wii per giocare a calcio e a chi preferisce un sistema di controllo profondo ed appagante rispetto ad un comparto grafico vicino al fotorealismo.

For those among you that consider yourselves diehard Resident Evil fans, this port of the original Resident Evil Zero technically works fine (besides the aforementioned freezes). If you can somehow look past the franchise's many flaws, which stubbornly cling to the series like t-virus parasites, then Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero is a cheap way to experience the original GameCube game. With that said, there are recent survival horror games built on much more elegant gameplay mechanics, so it's difficult for me to recommend Resident Evil Zero. When you couple the awkward tank controls with horrible item management, poor pacing and a lack of scares, you'll come to see that Resident Evil Zero is better left on store shelves.

In una recente intervista, Konami dichiarò che Saw - The Videogame sarebbe stato a tutti gli effetti il successore spirituale del suo Silent Hill, e che il titolo sarebbe presto diventato un paradigma del genere dei survival horror insieme ai mostri sacri del genere. Quale sacrilegio! Il titolo Brash Entertainment non riesce a replicare in alcun modo le tematiche profonde e toccanti di un Silent Hill qualsiasi o l’azione senza sosta di un Resident Evil. Certo, l’atmosfera della saga cinematografica omonima di James Wan e Leigh Whannell è realizzata quantomeno con decenza, ed alcuni passaggi riflettono pedissequamente quanto visto nell’esalogia su cellulosa. Ma alla fine della fiera il giocatore non proverà alcun sussulto, alcun brivido, mentre il povero Jigsaw continuerà a perseguire la sua crociata personale, pur sapendo di aver commesso un terribile errore ad entrare nell’affollato universo videoludico. E purtroppo, non vi è alcun modo per espiare questo atroce peccato.
