While F1 2009 isn’t the glorious return of the sport to videogames that some were hoping for, it’s nevertheless a respectable driving game. It’s short on features and lacking looks, but it nails the fundamentals well enough, with the F1 licence served with an engaging handling model and an impressive sense of speed. As racing games go on the PSP this doesn’t trouble the best, but for a slice of F1 action on the go it’s well worth a punt.

PES 2010 per Wii è una versione aggiornata e solo marginalmente migliorata del capitolo 2009. Una sintesi che dovrebbe essere sufficiente per indirizzare la volontà di acquisto da parte di chi ha già avuto modo di provare i precedenti exploit della serie sulla console Nintendo, mentre i neofiti probabilmente potrebbero preferire l'episodio dell'anno scorso con ben pochi rimpianti e conservando un po' di soldi nel portafoglio.

Attendu avec une légitime impatience par les millions de fans des Sims 3, Destination Aventure remplit fort honorablement son contrat en leur offrant la possibilité de découvrir trois pays regorgeant de donjons à explorer et de richesses à s'approprier. Moins paresseux que les extensions auxquelles Electronic Arts nous avait habitué, cet add-on séduira donc sans problème tous les amateurs de simulation de vie en mal de sensations fortes et d'exotisme.

L'idée de reprendre une histoire originale de Charles Dickens pour nous servir un conte interactif paraît bonne mais malheureusement ce Drôle de Noël de Scrooge ne se montre pas à la hauteur des espérances qu'il pouvait susciter. En effet, attendez-vous à mourir d'ennui avant de renouer totalement avec l'esprit de Noël.

NCAA Basketball 10 is a very solid basketball game, but that’s largely due to the steps forward that were taken by NBA Live. NCAA rests comfortably on the laurels of Live, but that also means that several of the gameplay issues also make their way into the collegiate package. Thankfully EA Canada did add a few college-specific touches and they all work very well to push the game forward. NCAA Basketball 10 might not be the most original basketball on the block, but at least it’s a good one.

Gyromancer is a Puzzle Quest clone, but that doesn't keep it from being fun and addictive. There is plenty of gameplay here to keep you busy for a while, leveling up your monsters and increasing your stable. It brings its own ideas to the table and wraps the package in very attractive fantasy art. Gamers looking for fast-paced excitement and thrills might find themselves nodding off, but there is quite a bit of depth to be explored if puzzlers and dungeon crawling is your thing. Those of you who still have love for Puzzle Quest: take Gyromancer for a spin.

Es ist vor allem für PS2-Spieler schade, dass Sony einem seiner namhaftesten Helden-Gespanne nicht den Aufwand einer vollwertigen Umsetzung spendiert. Weder Grafik noch Steuerung sind in dieser Form zeitgemäß! Wobei Letztere auch Hosentaschen-Helden ärgert, weil die Kamera entweder aus eigenem Gutdünken nicht dorthin zeigt, wo man etwas sehen will oder weil sie sich nicht so drehen lässt, wie man es sich vorstellt. Im Gegenzug genießen PSP-Spieler allerdings ein buntes Abenteuer in jeder Hinsicht. Denn Jak & Daxter: The Last Frontier sieht auf ihrem System nicht nur klasse aus, es ist auch eine abwechslungsreiche Geschichte voller Action, Knobelei und Herausforderungen an die Geschicklichkeit. Die Momente in Jaks Cockpit haben es mir besonders angetan, denn hoch im Himmel schlage ich nicht nur coole Loopings, sondern erledige auch zahlreiche optionale Aufträge. Mit der Belohnung rüste ich meine Flieger auf – ähnlich wie ich Jaks Fähigkeiten Stück für Stück erweitere. Der erlebt auf dem Boden zwar meist nur leidlich spannende Arenakämpfe und muss gelegentlich einem drögen Daxter-Mutanten das Spielfeld überlassen. Dafür darf er knifflige Rätsel lösen und sein akrobatisches Können beim Springen und Kraxeln beweisen. Unterm Strich ist das nichts Besonders – aber alles in allem einfach verdammt unterhaltsam!

Mélangeant d'une bien belle façon le puzzle-game et des éléments de RPG, Gyromancer se veut un excellent moyen de passer le temps qui plus est doublé d'un challenge à la hauteur. On aurait apprécié d'avoir droit à un mode multijoueur mais en l'état, nous avons déjà affaire à un très bon titre solo sur lequel on reviendra très souvent.

Assassin’s Creed II: Discovery è un gioco difficile da giudicare. Probabilmente dieci anni fa sarebbe stato accolto come un ottimo action, oggi, però, e soprattutto su una console come il Nintendo DS, sente il peso di un mercato troppo smaliziato per accettare ingenuità ludiche e un gameplay ripetitivo nonché a tratti frustrante. Ubisoft, se davvero avesse voluto replicare il successo di Assassin’s Creed su console portatile, avrebbe dovuto applicarsi al progetto con ben altre risorse e, senza reticenze, con altri team, dato che le potenzialità per tirar fuori un gioco interessante ci sono tutte, soprattutto disponendo di un brand forte come quello di Altair, Ezio e soci.
