Altered Beast is a relic of the arcade heyday that just doesn't hold up today. If you have fond memories of playing it in the arcade or on your SEGA Genesis, leave them in the past. While it was fun to revisit as part of Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, Altered Beast can't stand on its own. The only value here is the easy 200 achievement points.

Non cercheremo giri di parole, Peggle è un titolo consigliato davvero a tutti, qualsiasi versione andrete ad acquistare. Divertente da giocare, longevo, ricco di stile e personalità Peggle è un gioco dal quale sarà difficile staccarsi, per via delle tante sfide e del gameplay semplice, ma estremamente profondo.

If you've never played Gunstar Heroes then this is a required download. It's one of the best side-scrolling action games ever created and remains a lot of fun today. Even if you have already played it, the easy achievements and online co-op may be good reason to take it for another spin.

Digne successeur des deux précédents volets, Sonic 3 ne souffre que d’une durée de vie moyenne imputable à SEGA qui a pris trop de temps à développer ce jeu (ou qui a préféré se faire de l’argent sur deux jeux plutôt que sur un seul …). Quasi-irréprochable sur tous les autres points. Passer à côté aurait été (et serait encore aujourd’hui) une erreur !

Avec Earthworm Jim HD, c’est un véritable travail de restauration auquel s’est attelé Gameloft. Doté de graphismes somptueux en haute résolution, ainsi que d'une bande-son remastérisée, ce grand classique du jeu de plates-formes qui semble n’avoir pas pris une ride se montre plus envoûtant, plus drôle et plus accrocheur que jamais. Les niveaux bonus exclusifs et le mode multijoueur coopératif, des à-côtés que l’on jugeait a priori anecdotiques, se révèlent même plutôt convaincants et relèvent agréablement la durée de vie de ce remake remarquable, qui mérite amplement l’investissement des 10 euros demandés.

Monolith Soft ha osato creare un gioco che certamente farà infuriare i fan più accaniti della serie SRT: le dinamiche di gameplay completamente stravolte e la scelta di confinare i mitici Robot, capisaldi della saga, a meri compagni di supporto nelle retrovie del party o Summon da evocare in battaglia, sono elementi quantomeno bizzari per un gioco come Endless Frontier. Se tuttavia vi avvicinerete al titolo con l'ottica di cercare non un SRT ma un buon rpg, allora quasi sicuramente non rimarrete delusi dall'acquisto. I personaggi carismatici, il fantastico battle system, l'imponente colonna sonora e i dialoghi dalle battute taglienti sapranno farvi chiudere un occhio su una storia a tratti scontata e sulla grafica delle fasi di esplorazione.

Dodici anni nel mondo video ludico sono un’infinità. Per questo siamo sorpresi di constatare come Klonoa riesca a dimostrarsi un prodotto fresco. Sarà che, dopo i fasti dell'epoca, il genere ha avuto un lento declino che ha rarefatto i suoi esponenti, ma il prodotto Namco Bandati ha una sua precisissima ragion d'etre anche al giorno d'oggi. Il gameplay è semplice ed efficace, ricalca i canoni classici dei platform game e si sposa con un buon level design, che presenta intriganti (ma forse un po' troppo semplici) enigmi da risolvere. Klonoa rappresenta insomma un ottima chance per confrontarsi con le meccaniche classiche del genere, e anche chi già conosce il titolo nella sua versione originale apprezzerà il buon lavoro di conversione e la possibilità di tornare a qualche ora di spensierata azione vecchio stile. Inutile dire che ora tutti fan si aspettano un nuovo ed esclusivo capitolo della saga, che sappia sfruttare appieno le potenzialità della console e che sappia innovare finalmente questo brand lasciato nell’oblio da fin troppi anni.

The Virtual Console version of Bubble Bobble is a solid edition of this design, featuring a faithful emulation of the original NES port with all 100 classic levels, two-player support and that catchy looping theme music that you're still humming in your head to this day. It costs 500 Wii Points. It's a great value. Bubble Bobble Plus!, on the other hand, offers all of that same content, an all-new Arrange Mode, an upgrade to four-player support instead of just two, more difficult "Super" versions of both main modes and a ton of other little extras, like its updated visuals and remixed soundtrack. It costs 600 Wii Points. It's an even better value. For just the difference of a single dollar, you can't go wrong with Bubble Bobble Plus! -- whether you're selecting it for download instead of the VC version, or in addition to it. It would have been nice to have both of the Extra Modes included in the primary package too, but the price is still reasonable even with those added in -- a total of just ten bucks for the complete Plus experience. This one's a great option all around, Bobbleheads. Surf over to the Wii Shop now.

From screenshots, video or just hearing bits of its soundtrack, you'd think that Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled is some kind of port. A game that you somehow missed in the SNES era, perhaps, that is getting new life here on Nintendo's DS. But, said to say, that's just not the case. This is no classic of yesteryear, no matter how hard it's trying to masquerade as one. And it's a game that certainly will not go on to be well remembered itself, 10 or 15 years from now. Black Sigil is a valiant effort, but amidst all of its presentation problems and tedious gameplay the only positive point that will really live on with be its noble vision and good intentions -- it tried to be Chrono Trigger, but fell well short. So you should probably just forget about it, and go play the real Chrono Trigger one more time instead.

Ich mag die grinsenden Schweden eigentlich sehr; mit Wanted und den Bionic Commandos hatte ich echt viel Freude. Aber Terminator ist derart gründlich in die Hose gegangen, dass ich Uwe Boll im Entwicklersessel vermuten würde: Man merkt von der ersten Spielsekunde an, dass das Teil zum Filmstart fertig werden musste – koste es, was es wolle. Das Resultat ist ein Gears of War light light light, das zwar Potenzial zeigt, welches aber immer wieder durch Schlampigkeiten erdrückt wird. Es bietet keinerlei Höhepunkte, die passabel inszenierte Action plätschert die ganze Zeit auf dem dramatischen Niveau eines Mittwochnachmittagsspaziergangs herum – und nach gut drei Stunden ist das Ganze auch schon vorbei! Ich habe per se nichts gegen ein derart kurzes Spiel, wenn es sich in dieser Zeit mit Karacho in mein Stammhirn brennt und ich es immer wieder gerne rauskrame. Terminator kriegt aber weder das eine noch das andere hin: Von dem Spiel bleibt lediglich die Erkenntnis, dass irgendwie gerade drei Stunden vergangen sind, und dass sich auf dem Gamerscore-Konto auf magische Weise 1000 neue Punkte bzw. im Trophäenschrank ein paar mehr davon befinden. Alles andere wird unmittelbar aus dem Gedächtnis gelöscht, das Ding braucht nach einmaligem Durchspielen nie wieder angefasst zu werden, weil es nichts mehr zu bieten hat. Immerhin bleibt ein schwacher Trost: Das Spiel ist immer noch besser als der in jeder Hinsicht Grauen erregende Film.

The question of whether to go out and drop your hard-earned 60 bucks on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 should be decided by determining whether or not you’re a hardcore golf fan. If you’re someone who watches every second of every major tourney then you’ll enjoy the inclusion of the US Open and USGA Championship, you’ll dig the Live Tournaments, and you’ll appreciate the new putting. On the flipside, if you’re just waking up on Monday morning to check out the results on SportsCenter and you only occasionally dust off your copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, you’ll likely be disappointed by the general lack of show-stopping features and gameplay innovations.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for Wii is the definitive golf game. It's filled to the top with content, sports spectacular controls enhanced by MotionPlus, and includes great Disc Golf and online modes. Seriously, this is an amazing package made all the better by the peripheral pack- in. Just as impressive, though, is that this year's effort is so intuitively enjoyable that it has, in my experience, transcended the golf category altogether to become one of those rare Wii games that I will confidently recommend to anybody. Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Boom Blox and now Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 -- these are all games that are spectacular because of the very technology that makes Wii great. Like Wii Sports, Woods 10 could not be made as well for any other system. Get out there and support this excellent sequel -- a standout effort that will surely be in competition for sports game of the year.

Restaurant Empire 2 is a little tricky to evaluate. On one hand, you’re getting two games that give you glimpses of what it’s like to run dining establishments, both of which manage to essentially get the job don and pack in a story to boot. On the other hand, you’re dealing with the exact same issues from the first game six years later without any changes or adjustments; instead, you’re presented with a slightly different context and a larger assortment of items to play with. It’s still fun, but as far as a sim is concerned, it could’ve gone much farther.
