The future isn't set. That means you still have time to cancel your preorder of Terminator Salvation. A harsh statement, certainly, but considering the latest in the man vs. machine saga can easily be completed in four hours, it's an accurate one. While Terminator Salvation has some good ideas and is fun at times, it lacks any replayability. And more importantly, it lacks the star of the film, which is a rather curious omission. Unfortunately, this isn't a Games for Windows title, so no Achievements can be earned. And that's the real draw of a game like Salvation.

NeoPets Puzzle Adventure, anche se appartenente alla fascia "low-budget", aveva sulla carta tutte le possibilità di essere un titolo interessante, grazie all’introduzione di elementi strategici atti a vivacizzare lo storico Othello. Peccato che tutte le novità introdotte siano superficiali e per nulla incisive. Inoltre, una conversione fatta veramente con i piedi trasforma il viaggio nel fatato mondo di Neopia in un’esperienza scialba e solo a tratti interessante.

Playing Texas Hold 'em Tournament, you may wonder if you've mistakenly downloaded some piece of Nintendo 64 shovelware. It's a playable but basic version of Hold 'em, but the graphics make the game hard to take seriously. If you require nothing more than an online poker game, this'll do. But those that look for art, style, or personality in their games will need to look elsewhere.

Una gradita sorpresa questo Red Faction Guerrilla: pur non essendo esente da una serie di diffetti (sia strutturali che veniali) il titolo Volition risulta essere un prodotto ben confezionato, dotato di un comparto tecnico più che discreto (in cui il Geo-Mod 2.0 fa la parte del leone), e di una giocabilità i cui punti di forza risiedono nella freneticità e nel tasso di adrenalina che sprigionano le scorribande sul suolo di Marte. Ne consigliamo dunque l'acquisto a tutti coloro in cerca di un prodotto immediato, divertente e dotato di un elevato grado di longevità.

Grand Slam Tennis is an impressive package on Wii, and one of the best tennis games I’ve ever played. This opening year of Wii MotionPlus support – and the fact that it’s the first time out the gate for this series – leaves a few odd experiences to be had, and it’s not quite a true 1:1 experience for real-racquet movement, but minus a bit of a learning curve and some mechanical serving the experience is surprisingly fun and really, really addictive. It may seem daunting at first to deal with character movement, swing control, and button modifiers for lobs and drops, but once you get in the zone you’ll feel a level of connectivity that other games on the system just don’t have, and it’s paled only in comparison with Tiger Woods which is simply amazing this year. On top of some impressive, extremely accurate – once you get the feel for them – motion controls the game is also packed with content, including a full Grand Slam career mode, create-a-character, impressive online play that puts country vs. country play at the forefront of it all, and a party mode I actually want to play. I’m hoping EA goes even further with MotionPlus next year, including stronger motion serving and true hand-tracking, but as a debut franchise and rookie MotionPlus effort EA is already raising the bar for sports games on Wii.

Rock Band Unplugged fallisce non tanto per cattive intenzioni o deficit tecnici, quanto per una scelta sbagliata: quella di non aver progettato questa versione portatile assieme ad una periferica dedicata (come avvenuto su Nintendo DS per Guitar Hero On Tour). La classica formula a base di mattoncini colorati, assoli e overdrive vista nelle versioni casalinghe è qui riprodotta fedelmente, per quanto solo attraverso la pulsantiera di Psp, lacuna che rende il titolo obsoleto e poco accattivante. A scapito del valore globale vi è, inoltre, la mancanza di una componente multi giocatore e una tracklist che, per quanto varia e di qualità, risente di un massiccio ripescaggio di brani dalle versioni casalinghe. Resta ancora il dubbio sul motivo per cui EA non abbia voluto rivaleggiare Activision e On Tour con la stessa carta della periferica portatile, questione sulla quale vorremmo lasciare una considerazione: un controller dedicato avrebbe, probabilmente, limitato il gioco alla sola chitarra e basso, castrando la serie a livello concettuale; tuttavia avrebbe, altresì, assicurato un gameplay dignitoso e, da non sottovalutare, avrebbe arginato completamente il deleterio effetto della pirateria, fenomeno tristemente diffuso sulla piattaforma portatile Sony.

CellFactor is a surprisingly enjoyable shooter. It doesn't do anything new for a retail game, but there are few great online shooters on XBLA. And for that reason alone, it may be worth $10. If you don't want to play with anyone else, you can get a few hours out of the single-player challenges. But this is a game built for multiplayer.

Giudicando Punch-Out si deve andare un po’ oltre la richiesta di complessità videoludica che magari qualche appassionato di titoli pugilistici gradirebbe. Punch-Out nasce per macchine da sala, ed è quella arcade la sua natura più marcata: per questo motivo gli si può perdonare (in parte, non del tutto), la mancanza di una maggiore possibilità d’interazione con Little Mac, soprattutto poi di fronte ad una qualità artistica eccellente, ad una realizzazione tecnica pregevole ed un comparto audio curato. Il livello di difficoltà è forse calibrato troppo verso l’alto ma, l’abbiam detto, il titolo Next Level Games richiede dedizione, proprio come la boxe per un pugile pieno di speranze.

Fuel est riche d'un terrain de jeu historiquement vaste. En prenant certains risques, comme celui de transformer un jeu de courses Off-road en un semblant de MMO, le studio Asobo a réussi son pari en prenant le temps de soigner l'atmosphère, capitale dans ce titre en particulier. En effet, sans l'originalité de son cycle jour/nuit et des impactantes variations météorologiques, Fuel n'aurait finalement pas ce charme et cette personnalité qui le distinguent de la concurrence. Bien qu'il ne donne pas toutes les garanties espérées en termes de gameplay, la faute à quelques loupés et à une conduite perfectible, bien qu'il paie le prix de l'immensité de sa map par de gros soucis techniques, ce nouveau venu n'aura aucun mal à se faire une place de choix dans le marché très ouvert des jeux de courses.

We have seen various business simulation games appear on the gaming menu in recent years. Some are good and others are bad, while a select few are simply downright dreadful. As far as restaurant management games go, Restaurant Empire 2 is good. Compared to the best tycoon games on the market its nothing special, but that said I wouldn't write-off this game completely.
