Broken Steel è un'espansione consigliata a tutti gli amanti di Fallout 3, non tanto per i contenuti, ma per il fatto che tramite questo DLC Bethesda ha corretto una delle scelte meno condivisibili del gioco originale. La possibilità di avere un finale aperto si sposa infatti in maniera perfetta con la filosofia del gioco, con la meticolosità con la quale è stato cesellato ogni elemento del suo gameplay, che richiede ore di puntuale e paziente esplorazione per essere gustato appieno. Fallout, proprio per questo motivo, veniva piuttosto "castrato" da un finale "senza ritorno". Oltre a questo, per 800 Ms Points potrete portarvi a casa ulteriori ore di gioco, nuovi potenti equipaggiamenti e soprattutto la possibilità di poter salire ulteriormente di livello, con tutti i vantaggi che questo comporta.

I'd be lying if I indicated I didn't miss bongo support for this once- wholly-unique 3D platformer. I do. I've still got my bongos so it's downright disappointing that I can't plug them in and play with them. But that said, the 'new play controls' work very well and, besides, they do sometimes add welcomed precision and responsiveness. The amazing graphical presentation -- great for four years ago and still great by Wii standards today -- holds up beautifully. And best of all, the engaging level designs will still suck you in and the combo system will keep you coming back for more. With it's reduced price tag -- less than $29.99 online -- DK Jungle Beat is a fantastic platformer that discerning Nintendo fans shouldn't be without.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is kind of... there. I didn't hate my time with it, but I definitely wasn't having fun. The generic environments, button-mashing gameplay and lack of customization do little to draw you into the experience. The few instances where you can grab someone and stab them to death are nice, but these chances are few and far between. In the end, we have a game that's incredibly straight-forward and only represents Wolverine in the most general of ways. If you're looking for something you can just bash your way through and say that you're Wolverine, I guess this fits the bill, but that's far from a ringing endorsement.

The Chronicles of Spellborn almost feels like a contradiction of itself. While the game boasts some really great features, they all seem to have a downside. For example, there are tons of quests, but many are the same old quests that MMO players have been doing for 10 years now. The crafting system can be used by anyone without spending loads of time grinding away on planks and backpacks, but hardcore crafters and craft-based guilds will not be happy with such a simplistic system. The gameplay is enjoyable because it has this fresh new combat system; but at the same time you are grinding away on x number of bears, which look like brown paper bags from a distance. Character customization is excellent; but there are only two races to choose from. The list goes on. While The Chronicles of Spellborn is certainly a fun game, it has a very casual feeling about it. The sort of game that you can readily put away without having to get "just one more kill". There's a lot of solo content at your disposal, enough to make your way to the Level 50 cap. But the thought of doing it all over again with a new character isn't particularly on my to-do list, and a lack of PvP content and epic battles will likely turn off hardcore players.

Bien qu'elle mérite, mieux que les deux précédentes, l'appellation d'extension puisqu'elle vous permet de poursuivre l'aventure après son dénouement, Broken Steel est aussi la plus classique sortie à ce jour. Proposant quelques nouvelles quêtes peu originales et peu subtiles, elle semble se reposer paresseusement sur ses possibilités de progression jusqu'au niveau 30 pour convaincre les joueurs. Mais ceux-ci auraient tort de bouder leur plaisir vu qu'ils pourront bénéficier pour 800 points de nombreuses heures de jeu supplémentaires enrichies de quelques nouveaux monstres, armes et talents.

From the moment we saw the bizarre music video for Plants vs. Zombies we knew we wanted to play this game. The end product is really fantastic and stands right up there with PopCap's other hits like Peggle and Bejewelled. It has that elusive "special something" that gets its hooks in you and convinces you to forego food, sleep, and other essentials just to see what the next level has in store. If you've never played a tower defense game before, this is the one you should try. And if you're sick to death of tower defense games, this one's gonna bring you back into the fold.

Ci troviamo di fronte ad un gioco che si può definire senz'altro "onesto", ma poco più. Quello che dovrebbe essere il pilastro di tutta l'esperienza, ossia la battaglia in tempo reale, si rivela in realtà spesso e volentieri una sequenza di azioni ripetitive e poco stimolanti spostando l'attenzione del giocatore su elementi "secondari" quali la gestione del party, l'ambito narrativo e l'aspetto tecnico. Sicuramente i giocatori più affezionati a Shu e compagni non disdegneranno questa loro avventura portatile, per tutti gli altri resta un'esperienza non particolarmente fondamentale, certo non da evitare a tutti i costi, ma neanche memorabile: ci sono, su DS, altre priorità...
