A kid-friendly, motion-controlled version of Shaun White Snowboarding could have been a disaster, but this turns out to be a truly slick edition of the franchise. Not only is this one of the best-looking Wii games available, both remote and balance board controls feel really nice. I recommend it regardless of whether or not you own the board. This will be another good one to bring out when your non-gamer friends come over, as it fits the "pick up and play" description perfectly. The option to work through the entire game cooperatively is great but it would have been nice if your progression could carry over between single- and multiplayer. Overall this is a polished package and a great example of how to treat the Wii version of a multi-platform game.

If you are an RPG fan and enjoyed the previous Fallout games or the Elder Scrolls series then there will be a lot here for you to enjoy. Whatever your view, Fallout 3 offers a unique and different experience which is well worth becoming immersed in. One word of advice, savour every moment spent alone in the wilderness with a single clip of ammunition and a health pack: there are some special moments in gaming, this is one of them.

Un pacchetto di partenza che potrebbe fare gioco a sé per contenuti e qualità verrà ampliato a brevissimo termine, come da prassi Blizzard. Mentre la stragrande maggioranza dei milioni di giocatori che affollano i server (a volte purtroppo ancora - indecentemente- piegati dalla mole di traffico, l'unico vero neo in un eden altrimenti perfetto) sta ancora cercando di raggiungere l'agognato “cap”, all'orizzonte si stagliano già numerosi e sostanziosi contenuti aggiuntivi, e non certo di secondaria importanza: tra il debutto dell'attesissima nuova stagione dedicata all'Arena e l'epico encounter a lungo rimandato che pareggerà i conti con l'amato/odiato Arthas, si parla già di revisioni sostanziali alle meccaniche di gioco, come la fantomatica dual spec che dovrebbe evitare di spendere centinaia di gold passando in continuazione da una specializzazione all'altra. Al di là di una presunta predilezione di Blizzard nei confronti dei giocatori occasionali, a danno dei guerrieri più esigenti, che avrebbe portato World of Warcraft ad un livello di accessibilità forse troppo pronunciato, abbiamo la certezza che il trono ghicciato resterà saldamente in mano al diabolico team d'oltreoceano; semplicemente perché sanno, volente o nolente, come far divertire con la D maiuscola.

Faute de grosse concurrence sur le support, les fanatiques de glisse peuvent se laisser tenter par l'expérience Shaun White Snowboarding, à condition de ne pas être frustré par un système de tricks indigeste et brouillon et des sensations pas vraiment scotchantes. La relative liberté offerte sur les pistes pourra éventuellement et en contrepartie satisfaire les aficionados.

Shaun White Snowboarding est une bonne pioche. Techniquement soigné, il procure des sensations très sympa et se veut vraiment accessible. S'il a du mal à tenir sur la durée, rien n'empêchera les plus accrocs de tenter de décrocher tous les succès possibles et d'upgrader leur planche jusqu'à en faire une bête de compétition.

Au Backe! Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 ist das perfekte Beispiel dafür, wie der fehlgeleitete Fokus auf eine Stylus-orientierte Steuerung einen Titel in den Abgrund stürzen kann. Na ja, nicht ganz. Denn der für DS-Verhältnisse mächtige Editor, der interessante und mit Rollenspiel-Anleihen versehene Saison-Modus und die sehr gelungene Kulisse (ich lasse die drögen Zuschauer mal außen vor) können sich absolut sehen lassen und hätten wie der restliche Umfang eigentlich mehr verdient. Und hätten die Doppelscreen-Wrestler eine Knopfsteuerung, wäre der Award sicher gewesen. So aber knabbert die unnötig komplizierte Steuerung mit ihren Ungenauigkeiten, Aussetzern oder auch die fehlenden Konter-/Ausweichmöglichkeiten nicht nur ein Prozent nach dem anderen weg, sondern schafft dies gleich paketweise. Sehr, sehr schade. Nintendo-Anhänger mit Wrestling-Faible müssen weiterhin auf den spirituellen Nachfolger zu No Mercy warten.
