Clockwork Knight is a classic launch title. It's gussied up with features that capitalize on a new system's power, such as polygons or CD-quality audio. But at its core, Clockwork Knight is just a base-level platform that skates too long on the charms of its hero, Pepper. I do hope that the Saturn is resurrected somehow on the current console, maybe on the Virtual Console or the Xbox Live Arcade, but if Pepper is called back into service, his sequel is the one that should be enlisted.

Winter Games 2008 is far, far better than either the price or uninspired title would lead you to believe. The extra meat found in the Campaign Mode at least gives the events a little more life, and the events themselves -- while not universally awesome -- are at least mildly fun across the board. In some cases, they can be plenty of fun in multiplayer with friends.

Those looking for a simple turn-based strategy game could do a lot worse than Commanders: Attack of the Genos. The game is a fun distraction as a single player game and a good amount of fun when playing online. For casual gamers or those looking for some relaxed strategy gaming in between more intense affairs, Commanders is worth a look.

NBA 08 n'a pas sa place dans un marché dominé par deux monstres que sont NBA 2K8 et NBA Live 08. Manque d'originalité, gameplay très pauvre, réalisation médiocre... Tout est réuni pour que l'on zappe le jeu de Sony afin de retourner à du vrai basket.

Dragon Quest Swords isn’t your average RPG experience, and as such certain gamers might be thrown off by what Square Enix has done with Wii’s first outing. If you’re looking for a hardcore, 50+ hour experience, this isn’t it. What DQ Swords brings to the table, however, is an extremely accessible role playing experience that works to capture new gamers in the world of Dragon Quest. The combat is fast and action-packed, the actual RPG elements are much lighter than anything we’ve seen from Square in years (maybe ever), and the storyline is simple and accessible for any age. Even the level-building and party management is totally streamlined, as all AI is handled on the fly. There’s a definite wish list of changes we would have liked to see though, as the Wii-mote only controls aren’t extremely comfortable, and the adventure is over before you know it. As a product that ends up being “Dragon Quest Lite” though, Swords is still pretty entertaining while it lasts.

If you're trying to decide which of Bomberman's recent adventures to try out, we recommend Bomberman Land Touch! 2 for the DS. However, if you specifically have eyes on Bomberman Land for the Wii, there's a good amount of fun content included. There are certainly better Wii games out there, but I had fun with this one and it'll especially please fans of the original Bomberman experience.

It'd be easy to roll your eyes at this decidedly kiddie game, but it's important to give Sony a pat on the back. Yeah, this title and its simplistic tasks are only going to entertain the young ones for a limited time, but even though I'd never play these games without the promise of a paycheck, it's nice to see Sony supporting a niche controller. Robojam isn't beautiful or deep, but it is a solid game for families to occasionally gather around, enjoy with the ankle biters and bicker over who gets to be the blue robot.
