If you're trying to decide which of Bomberman's recent adventures to try out, we recommend Bomberman Land Touch! 2 for the DS. However, if you specifically have eyes on Bomberman Land for the Wii, there's a good amount of fun content included. There are certainly better Wii games out there, but I had fun with this one and it'll especially please fans of the original Bomberman experience.

The original Discs of Tron is one of my favorite games ever made. Anyone who only experiences Discs of Tron through this poor port won't understand why this game was ever held in high regard. It's a shame that a classic could be given such poor treatment with meager graphics, bad sound, and inaccurate controls. The one new element, the online multiplayer, runs poorly and is no fun to play. All-in-all, one of the worst XBLA ports to date.

Devil May Cry 4 è un titolo notevole, degnamente realizzato dal punto di vista tecnico ed ottimo sotto il profilo del gameplay. La varietà garantita dal cambio di protagonista si affianca ad una generale rifinitura delle dinamiche di gioco, e la mobilità garantita dalla possibilità di redistribuire le abilità acquisite rende la struttura portante del quarto episodio esemplare per i titoli a venire. Un peccato per l'eccessivo riuso che si è fatto degli ambienti e dei boss, che alla fine costringe a giocare due serie di schemi parallele e sostanzialmente identiche nel level design. Chi ama concentrarsi sul sistema di gioco e migliorare continuamente le proprie prestazioni, riuscirà a chiudere un occhio e godere appieno del duplice approccio (con Nero e Dante), per altri questo aspetto potrebbe influenzare molto sul divertimento nelle fasi finali, che lasciano per altro poco spazio per sperimentare soluzioni ludiche con il carismatico figlio di Sparda (nonostante gli strumenti in suo possesso siano molti). Poco male, in ogni caso: Devil May Cry 4 si conferma uno dei titoli in grado di mantenere vivo il ruolo degli action 3D nel mercato attuale. E solo il grado di difficoltà, un vero marchio di fabbrica della serie, potrebbe allontanare i giocatori meno preparati: per tutti gli altri si tratta di un action da avere a tutti i costi, anche solo per le bellissime cutscene, per la trama ricca di clichè ma ben narrata e sopratutto per il cast di personaggi.

Ja, Turok und Turok 2 waren super Spiele. Aber was dem glorreichen Namen danach angetan wurde, rechtfertigt wohl, dass die Serie einen komplett neuen Anfang nimmt. Und ich habe kein Problem damit, dass mein Held jetzt kein Indianer im Dinosaurierland mehr ist, sondern ein unrasierter Schema-F-Marine, der ohne größere Änderungen auch in jedem anderen Shooter mitwirken könnte. Ich habe allerdings ein Problem mit blöden Design-Entscheidungen, die ein gutes Spiel in die Mittelmäßigkeit zerren: Ein Indianer mag keinen Schmerz spüren, ich hingegen schon – und der äußert sich in diesem Fall in einem angesichts des schrecklich missratenen Checkpunkt-Systems rasant schrumpfenden Paracetamol-Vorrat. Die Verwundbarkeit während der nicht abbrechbaren Messer-Attacken zählt ebenso dazu wie die hibbelige Steuerung oder die übertriebene Unberechenbarkeit der Saurier, die ihren Teil dazu beitragen, dass der Schwierigkeitsgrad unnötig in die Höhe gekurbelt wird. Ich mag das Messer samt seiner mannigfaltigen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten, ich mag den Bogen, ich mag die vielfältigen Herangehensweisen an die Probleme. Aber ich mag es nicht, eine Stelle zehn Mal spielen zu müssen, weil die Designer der Meinung sind, dass das total viel Spaß macht. Turok, alte Hütte – tu rockst einfach nicht mehr!

Since the decline of adventure games, it seems the classics of Sierra and LucasArts have managed to outshine a lot of equally deserving third-party titles. It might be hard to appreciate how impressive Under a Killing Moon was in 1994, but the approachable design, friendly hint system, and entertaining presentation have helped it to age gracefully, and it has weathered the test of time as one of the best detective games to this day.

Porting all’ennesima potenza del vecchio spirito da sala “mordi e fuggi”, condito con gli stessi ingredienti ma proiettati su un altro livello grazie alla tecnologia messa a disposizione dal potente hardware made in Microsoft, Omega Five potrebbe creare una folgorante breccia nei cuori degli hardcore gamer più ostinati ed esperti del genere, come potrebbe passare inosservato ai più, proprio per le sue doti da cabinato anni ‘90. La stupenda grafica (parliamo sempre di un Live Arcade!) e la giocabilità semplice ed intuitiva, ma non superficiale, lo rendono sicuramente un prodotto interessante e ben curato, ma dotato di una scarsa longevità effettiva ed una grossa pecca sul lato multiplayer, dato che la modalità cooperativa è disponibile solo in locale e non via Xbox Live (scelta assolutamente non conforme con lo spirito del gioco e di tutti i congeneri disponibili nel marketplace). Una prova della demo gratuita è consigliata ed è sicuramente il modo migliore per carpire tutti i pregi dell’ultima fatica Natsume.
