Gate of Thunder was an absolutely excellent choice to become the first game in the Wii Shop to have come from the TurboGrafx-CD. And while its branding there and on your Wii's Channel Array won't reflect that, it's undeniable once you launch the game – the soundtrack is explosive, and sounds amazing even when adapted into VC digital distribution form from its original CD source. Gate's gameplay, too, separates it from other side-scrolling shooters by keeping you more engaged, with more choices to make in the middle of tense firefights – will you take things slow, or set the ship to maximum speed? Will you attack all out in front, or split your focus to cover the rear as well? Overall, Gate of Thunder is just a very solid, satisfying and musically impressive title that is well worth your 800 Wii Point investment. So check it out.

Call of Duty 4 is everything we've come to love about the series and continues its tradition of stunning visuals and thrilling gameplay. It's more of the same, but every bit as polished as we hoped.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a fantastic game. The single-player experience is easily Infinity Ward's best work to date. Calling it intense may be an understatement. The overall story is standard action movie fare, but the relationships built over the short five hours of play are surprisingly strong. Though the single-player lacks length, the multiplayer should keep you invested in COD4 for the long winter. This is a truly fantastic multiplayer offering that's as deep as any other online game available. Infinity Ward has done it again. Call of Duty 4 is a winner.

Bonne opération pour Activision qui va se remplir les poches à moindres frais et pour les joueurs n'ayant pas encore touché aux précédents softs. Les nouveautés sont limitées mais le fait de retrouver deux jeux en un, ainsi que des niveaux et personnages supplémentaires est déjà une très bonne chose en soi. On aurait aimé qu'Acti. offre le titre pour une cinquantaine d'euros mais malheureusement, il faut croire que la société américaine est elle aussi encline à empiler les briques.

Avec ses 16 Power Rangers jouables, on se doute bien que Super Legends est un titre fait pour les fans. On y trouve d'ailleurs tous les éléments de la série : baston, vaisseau, Megazord et même les chorégraphies ridicules pour se donner du courage ! Malheureusement, l'action manque de nervosité pour que l'on puisse y voir autre chose qu'un simple jeu d'action.

At the end of the day, if you enjoy touring car racing but have found the Codemasters TOCA series to be too cheesy and arcade-like for your tastes, Race 07 is worth your investment. It is what touring car racing is all about, right down to the weight-penalties given to the winning cars. Online play will help you find others to race with, and all the tweaking, tuning and customization options are there for you. In addition, expect to see other tracks, cars and skins put into the game by modders who have done this for each game SimBin has put out. The game will pay for itself many times over for the hardcore sim fan who treats these games as an investment in a sim racing career. But a title like this is not as likely to win over a casual racer, because little was done to cultivate new hardcore sim racing fans here.

Once you’ve circled your last letter you’ll probably realize what we’ve been thinking all along, that Word Puzzle is a game that’s probably better left to pen and paper. The game offers solid variety and decent puzzle design, but at the end of the day you’re still doing with a controller that which is much easier and just as rewarding with a pencil. Word of advice, if you’ve solved every other puzzle book at your local Barnes & Noble and have no other brain stimulation for a month and a half, spend your 800 Microsoft Points here. If none of that applies to you then look elsewhere.

Spider-Man: Amici o Nemici rientra in quella categoria di titoli espressamente pensati per prosciugare quanto più possibile un franchise di successo, non badando assolutamente alla qualità media del prodotto (in questo caso, mediocre). Il gioco pubblicato da Activision e sviluppato dai canadesi Next Level Games si propone infatti come un coacervo di luoghi comuni, sorretti da una messa in scena che sfigurerebbe anche su una console di vecchia generazione. Un vero spreco, anche perché l’idea di fondo originale (cooperare con i cattivi), la modalità multiplayer cooperativa, l’ottimo comparto audio ed il fascino indiscusso delle pellicole cinematografiche da cui trae ispirazione avrebbero potuto innalzare l’esperienza ludica ben al di sopra delle più rosee aspettative. Peccato invece che il risultato ottenuto con Spider-Man: Amici o Nemici risulterà noioso anche a chi, con l’amichevole Ragno di quartiere, ci ha passato la propria infanzia. Ragion per cui, EveryEye posa il joypad, spegne la console, e torna alla sana lettura del fumetto...
