Fatal Inertia's item selection and swappable course circuits and modes simply aren't enough to elevate this game from run-of-the-mill to classic, arcade racing fun. If the game's premise wasn't so based on delivering a sensation of intense speed, the end result would have resulted in a much higher recommendation. As it stands, arcade racing fans are advised to wait for Burnout Paradise to convey everything that KOEI's title was supposed to bring to the table.

Eledees soffre dei soliti problemi di molti altri titoli di lancio: porta con sè molte idee interessanti e una realizzazione artistica di rilievo, che però risultano sviliti da una struttura di gioco troppo superifciale e ripetitiva. Se pur il sistema di controllo è ottimo, offrendo la dimostrazione di quanto profondo possa essere l'interazione tra noi e il mondo virtuale, non riesce a tradurre queste idee in un gameplay altrettanto sfaccettato e appagante. Divertente e longevo per la raccolta di Eledees, ma ripetitivo per l'impostazione dei livelli, pecca anche nell'offrire un'esigua varietà di azioni. Le modalità multiplayer e quella di scambio online si presentano altrettanto interessanti, ma destinate a ricadere all'interno di una ripetitività di fondo che, purtroppo, non consente a Eledees di svettare quanto a qualità complessiva. Il ritardo della conversione PAL lo ha ulteriormente penalizzato, in quanto la sua natura di gioco dimostrativo delle potenzialità del remote sarebbe stata sicuramente più apprezzata mesi addietro, nel periodo del lancio della console stessa.

“Super Paper Mario” ha juntado todo lo mejor de Intelligent Systems para darnos la experiencia definitiva de un Mario de papel que viajará, por primera vez, de las dos a las tres dimensiones para intentar salvar al mundo. Su sencillez de uso y su jugabilidad en estado puro, unidas a una acertada mezcla de RPG y plataformas convierten a este título en uno de los imprescindibles del catálogo actual de Wii.

For years, 2K's brand of hockey was a step above EA as a true simulation of the sport. But give credit where it is due, EA finally chucked its desire to marry arcade fun with its simulation and finally got hockey right. NHL 08 has a few nagging flaws -- occasionally suspect team AI, clipping issues, and a lack of ESPN flavor -- but it has nailed the gameplay. And really, isn't it gameplay that matters most?

Games like these usually get classified as "only for the hardcore fan," but that's an insult to fans of The Settlers. The biggest fans of the game will be the ones that are most disappointed. It's not just that the game is bad, which it is. It's that the game is bad when for many reasons it should be good. The load times are ridiculous, the gameplay is tedious, and sometimes the thing crashes, so it's not even a functional game. In Blue Byte's defense, The Settlers is its first DS game, so maybe with any luck they'll go back and fix the problems, and make a game that does a decade's worth of PC titles justice. Oh, and make sure it's not only sold in Gamestop.

Drawn to Life is a product that needs to be judged on more than just a simple number. In a game like this it isn’t a matter of “yes it’s good” or “no, it’s bad,” as it’s really a blend of unique and unconventional aspects that either will or won’t appeal to a given audience. On the technical side the design and execution is very impressive, including an intuitive and truly unique virtual canvas for players to use, a ton of programmatic animation that gives the game a feel all its own, and a ton of instances where the game requires users to put their creations directly into play. On the flipside though it’s important to note that the drawing is Drawn to Life’s hook, and that aside from that you won’t find anything amazingly unique in the story, gameplay, or level design. We’re not saying the creation aspects aren’t fun – they are – but that’s the extent of the game’s depth as well. For those that are fine with an overly-predictable experience (creation aspects aside) you’ll still be met with great style, impressive animation, some truly beautiful music, and an overall product that’s got an astounding amount of polish to what’s there. And seeing that it’s a kids game, most of the title’s target audience will have just as much fun doodling on the interactive title screen or creating assets as they will furthering the adventure anyways. As a total package Drawn to Life is truly unique, a ton of fun, and a no-brainer for younger DS owners; just don’t expect more than an open canvas and some by-the-books platforming.
