In definitiva, malgrado le premesse, Gunpey non raggiunge gli standard qualitativi di un titolo come Meteos pur essendo sotto molti punti di vista molto più curato. Riesce però a reggersi con successo sulle gambe del collaudatissimo gameplay. Il lavoro svolto dal team di Mizuguchi per aggiornare il lavoro di Yokoi è notevole. Purtroppo però la mancanza di varietà, il supporto multiplayer limitato ad un numero di due soli giocatori, che per di più necessitano di due copie della cartuccia e la mancanza di un qualsiasi supporto online precludono Gunpey ai giocatori in cerca di un puzzle game immediato. Tutti coloro i quali, invece, siano in cerca di una sfida di altissimo livello farebbero bene a considerarne l'acquisto.

$30 may seem a bit steep for an expansion pack, but Shivering Isles more than makes up for the cost with amazing content, a weird new world to explore and some of the craziest characters ever seen in a role-playing game. If you loved Oblivion then there's no excuse not to pick up this massive expansion pack.

If you're jonesing for team-based tropical shooters, you're going to have to keep on looking. Last year saw several strong action-oriented releases, and none of them broke up the action with an overhead strategic map. It doesn't look bad, and it certainly doesn't sound bad, but combat is alternately vicious or easy. There's also the matter of getting dropped into jungle mode just outside the view of your target, which typically leads to frustration as you trudge around looking for whatever it is that stopped your travel. Perhaps EW:V needed a little more time for polish.
