Le cas des collections est toujours épineux. Si on se penche sur les jeux en eux-mêmes, les nostalgiques ou les curieux trouveront de bons titres mais pas suffisamment d'enrobage, de bonus, d'options et surtout un sentiment certain de se faire prendre pour une vache à lait, 21 titres sur un DVD ? Soyons sérieux Capcom, sortez une compilation par an et non deux, mais une vraie, remplie.

In conclusione Freedom Wings è un gioco davvero mal riuscito. Se l’idea di base può sembrare interessante, la realizzazione scialba e inconsistente sia degli elementi jRpg sia di quelli Action decretano il fallimento del titolo. Il pessimo comparto tecnico non fa che aggravare i già evidenti difetti di gameplay. La sola componente gestionale dell’aereo (comunque nulla che non si sia già visto in altre occasioni) non riesce a salvare il titolo Natsume dall’oblio cui è destinato inesorabilmente.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is a good handheld retelling of The Two Thrones. The atmospheric storyline remains intact and the game includes all the fun and engaging platforming and combat sequences of the console-based titles. Additionally, there is new content -- a real baffler since Ubisoft also made a Wii version that doesn't include it... and yet, there are drawbacks that keep the game from getting a higher score. Load times are still ever-present. The dual-analog nature of the Prince series has proved to problematic in the transition to Sony's handheld; you'll have to hold down the L button to control the camera and you can't move Prince around and change your viewing angle at the same time. And the game just runs slower, with a sometimes-sluggish framerate. In the end, you're still left with a fun Prince of Persia outing, but there is little doubt that the title is best played on your television and not on the go.

Come tutti i giochi sviluppati da Grasshopper, Contact parte da un concept tutto sommato classico e lo arricchisce con spunti originali ed un gusto estetico particolarissimo. Nonostante si tratti tutto sommato di un classico action-rpg, il gioco è impreziosito dai comandi tramite touch screen, dal sitema di abilità incentrato sui costumi e dall'utilizzo insolito dei due schermi. Anche se l'avventura principale è relativamente breve, la presenza di numerosissime side quest conferisce una buona longevità ad un titolo i cui unici punti deboli sono alcune piccole imperfezioni nel sistema di controllo ed un'impostazione tanto originale che a qualcuno potrebbe non piacere.

The Wonder Boy series has a strong fan following that still exists today. Dragon's Curse doesn't have the Wonder Boy branding, but it is almost the exact same game as the Master System hit Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap -- and seeing that this version is graphically and audibly updated, that's not a bad thing.

Dragon Ball Z: Buokai Tenkaichi 2 è un fighting game che rinnova, ma non stravolge, i canoni del genere. Il sistema di controllo, molto complesso e di non facile apprendimento, conferisce una notevole profondità all'esperienza di gioco, esaltata da una giocabilità che - con un po' di pratica - si rivela essere il vero punto di forza del titolo. Il più che discreto comparto tecnico e l'enorme mole di personaggi rendono questo gioco un must per i fan del manga e dell'anime. Per tutti gli altri l'acquisto di questo titolo, nonostante le buone ragioni oggettive di cui sopra, va ponderato perchè difficilmente può prescindere dalla conoscenza dell'universo di DragonBall. In ogni caso, Tenkaichi 2 per Wii, essendo il primo picchiaduro per la neonata console Nintendo, oltre ad offrire molti spunti di riflessione, fa ben sperare per i beat'em di futura uscita, considerando l'adeguato sviluppo del sistema di controllo, capace - e non è cosa da poco - di rendere i combattimenti meno ripetitivi e macchinosi di quanto si sia abituati a vedere in altri titoli anche più blasonati.

Theme Park first arrived in the mid-90s. It came to PCs, and then various home consoles including the Genesis, SNES and PlayStation. The sim genre was already established by that time, with Will Wright's SimCity revolutionizing how people sank their time into gaming. But Theme Park was a revolution, too, in its own regard. It was the creation of Bullfrog Productions and Peter Molyneux – Peter Molyneux, who's since gone on to create such hits as Dungeon Keeper, Black & White and Fable. In Theme Park Peter created the first real business management sim. This wasn't about creating a sprawling metropolis, it was about creating a successful, profitable amusement park – and tweaking and adjusting each little variable option in order to make just a bit more cash from every hapless visitor. The vision and fun live on here in this new version, the first time Theme Park's ever gone portable. And though you'll definitely see that this game came from over a decade ago, you'll still have a lot of fun changing ticket prices, hiring guys in rhino costumes, and cleaning up after queasy kids just stepping off the rollercoaster.
