If you've played The Sims or Animal Crossing and enjoyed them, Viva Pinata is a safe bet. The gameplay is more interactive and hectic, and facing the consequences of your actions, be they good or bad, is enjoyable gaming. Viva Piñata may have been designed with children in mind, but Rare has created a game that anybody with an open mind can get into and have fun with. The characters are endearing and the abounding sense of discovery can't be denied. Despite the slim interpersonal Xbox Live interaction we would hope for in a game like this, Viva Piñata has enough to explore and keep you busy that it makes for a solid purchase.

At the very least, I'm very impressed with the quality level of this game; Happy Feet on the Nintendo DS looks and sounds really, really good. Unfortunately, there just isn't a lot of game there. The two types of gameplay are fun, but they're not enough to carry a game, so it becomes boring when that is all players can do. Happy Feet could have been a great game if more was added to it, but as it stands, it's barely any game at all.

Et si vous aimez tout ça, alors Medieval II vous plaira. Notez au passage que les affrontements dont le sort semble évident peuvent être passées automatiquement. Cela permet de ne pas s'ennuyer dans de longs sièges contre des bourgades paysannes. La difficulté est bien dosée, vous pouvez choisir la durée de votre campagne solo, dont nul ne sait quel tournant elle peut prendre. Les missions annexes donnent du piment, et en peu de temps vous utilisez les gens rencontrés comme n'importe quel souverain le ferait. Le moteur peut mettre à genoux les dernières configurations mais en baissant les détails cela reste jouable sur d'anciennes machines. Mais attention, Medieval II : Total War n'est pas la grande avancée annoncée. Il mérite tout de même sa place dans cette prestigieuse série. Il aurait été bon d'instaurer un mode coopératif/stratégique par exemple. De plus, des problèmes d'IA et le peu d'innovations présentes ne le placent qu'au rang de bon jeu pour qui n'a pas sa préquelle. Il reste un excellent titre que ces quelques dépréciations ne doivent pas entacher.

Although this could be called the best Superman game yet, Superman Returns is among the most disappointing. EA did very well with Superman’s powers, and flying and freezing and blowing and heating are each fun in their own way. But Superman is more than the sum of his powers; he is defined too by his alter ego Clark Kent, by his romance with Lois Lane, and by his archenemy Lex Luthor. All of these are absent in the gameplay of Superman Returns. That, coupled with mindless and monotonous action, as well as average graphics and sound are more damning blows to the world’s favorite superhero than ten tons of kryptonite. While the open world is supposed to let you do whatever you like, there just isn’t anything to do in Metropolis. Punching out bad guys becomes about as fun as taking out the garbage, and the “epic” battle between Superman and the forces of evil is as simple and dull as a day of chores. It could be argued that this game should be recommended to hardcore Superman fans, but it’s clear to me that those are the ones that will least enjoy this lackluster effort. EA was on to something in Superman Returns, but barely tapped the surface. The current-gen effort is an afterthought compared to the 360. Rent, if you must.

Le titre d'EA produit ce résultat à l'infini.

Développé dans un souci de simplicité extrême, Georges le Petit Curieux sur GBA n'est pas plus évolué que les premiers jeux de plates-formes que l'on découvrait à l'époque des NES et autres Master System. Un peu plus d'originalité dans la conception aurait peut-être permis à ce titre d'éviter la catastrophe.
