La nuova veste grafica, seppur non faccia gridare al miracolo, riesce a soddisfare sia i fan della serie che i novizi. Inoltre, il doppio ruolo di agente e terrorista, oltre a garantire un’alta rigiocabilità, tiene incollati allo schermo, coinvolgendo il giocatore come pochi titoli riescono a fare. Il comparto multiplayer, infine, è la ciliegina sulla torta in grado di regalare ore e ore di sano divertimento in compagnia. In poche parole, un titolo consigliato a tutti: Sam Fisher è tornato e lo ha fatto in grande stile.

When a development team cares about the game it's making, it shows in the final product. This is apparent when it comes to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Tose software has made a solid action RPG. It's not as exciting as the show is, but I still had a pretty fun time playing it. I just wish I could be playing it with my friends. I hope that, like Aang, Tose can master their skills and blow me away next time.

When Activision revealed earlier this year that the next Tony Hawk DS title would be a trick-based racing game, I'll freely admit I was ready to write off the concept right then and there. Tony Hawk has always been about its open worlds and finding the best lines and objects to grind off of, and turning the design into a forward rolling SSX-inspired racing design could potentially stray the series away from what made it so great from the start. Playing it completely squashed my initial fears -- Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam is an extremely fun Nintendo DS racer with all of the familiar Tony Hawk progression and challenge, but presented in a whole new way. The game is fast, furious, and fun as hell, even if the racing focus limits the world exploration. The online component in the game easily makes Tony Hawk one of the deepest multiplayer titles on the system, even if we're still stuck in Nintendo's restrictive network -- it lacks a lobby system to find games easily, but once you're in the game runs great and features an in-game voice chat option that's admittedly a bit limited but still damn cool to use. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam has enough of the right stuff to continue on as its own franchise, but I'd be lying if I said that it's a better concept than the original open world, go-anywhere Pro Skater/Underground/American Sk8land designs. The racing game is excellent even with its slight restrictions -- the designers have explored the core idea to give it a fantastic amount of variety. It's really great stuff that'll appeal to racing fans and skateboarding nuts.

WTF: Work Time Fun offers a bizarre mix of challenges. They range from short and fun, to long and dull and everywhere in between. Most of the mini-games fail to conjure smiles, though, and so the package as a whole suffers for it. WTF has plenty of content to uncover, aside from the main challenges, but much of the fun escapes too quickly. It does have a wicked sense of style, so anyone looking for a funky game with pick-up-and-play content may want to check it out.

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause is a harmless, forgettable game that isn't particularly good or bad. Anyone older than the target age will find themselves bored by the generic gameplay and repetitive design. At the same time little kids, especially those who are fans of the film, could do worse for a licensed GBA game. It never really rises above its mediocrity, but it's not an awful game either.

Manifestement, Namco Bandai s'est un peu trop pressé dans le développement de ce premier opus DS, car le résultat est clair : Tales of the Tempest est incomplet. Faisant l'impasse sur un bon nombre de mécanismes pourtant inhérents à la série, cet épisode se satisfait de n'offrir une aventure trop simpliste – bien que fort sympathique – qui laissera sur leur faim tous les inconditionnels des Tales of. Ce n'est d'ailleurs que peu de temps après sa sortie que, face à l'accueil très mitigé du public, l'éditeur décidera de rétrograder l'opus au rang d'escort title. En espérant que les prochains épisodes prévus sur la console portable de Nintendo soient de meilleure facture.

Cette année plus que jamais, PES est LE jeu qui se rapproche le plus de la réalité. Malgré un choix déstabilisant de la part de Konami de rendre les tâches défensives extrêmement délicates, on retrouve le plaisir d'une simulation qui ne pardonnera pas les erreurs mais qui saura récompenser les actions construites avec talent et patience. Une référence qui parvient encore à nous faire oublier ses points faibles que sont ses commentaires et le manque de profondeur en terme de championnats. Pas parfait mais de très loin le meilleur sur la pelouse.

Mission accomplie par le studio d'Ubisoft qui a su réellement retravailler sa licence pour ne pas nous sortir une vulgaire suite avec des arrières-pensées lucratives. Reprenant le succès de l'épisode précédent par son moteur graphique et son gameplay, les développeurs ont su ajouter de vraies nouveautés pour attiser notre intéret de joueur dont une véritable révolution dans la série, un scénario soigné. Prenant, saisissant, stressant, Splinter Cell Double Agent est un vrai roman d'aventure teinté de thriller qui se dévore à pleines dents sans ennui et sans baisse de régime.

It's nice that the developers attempted a true Sims experience for this latest rendition -- the point and click interface and 3D environments clearly work on the Nintendo DS system's touch screen. But the design itself lacks focus in both its Sims model as well as its Pet simulation -- it's just so overwhelmingly bland, boring, tedious, and unrewarding that it fails to hold the interest level that the Sims series has been known for. Though the core of a Sims environment is here, this design has so many missing bells and whistles that it ends up feeling lazy.
