I’m happy with how this game turned out. I saw some weird things like arms passing through players, and some weird things happening with the animations at times (odd collision issues) but overall, the game plays quite well. It’s not hugely different from what we saw last year, but the advancements that were made were solid enough. NBA fans that own current gen consoles can hold out a little longer before they upgrade. NBA 2K7 on PS2 gives nice bang for $30 bucks.

Faisons simple et direct : El Matador n'est pas révolutionnaire, loin s'en faut. Sa formule est archi classique, linéaire au possible mais le tout est suffisamment bien amené pour qu'on se laisse tenter par ce Max Payne version DEA survoltée. Alors si vous aimez le genre, ne vous privez pas, pour 40 euros, vous aurez une charmante petite distraction.

Passer l'austérité graphique propre à ce genre de jeu, Strategic Command 2 dévoile peu à peu ses atouts : un contenu complet avec 6 campagnes et 5 petits scénarios, un éditeur de niveaux, un mode multijoueur jouable à 6, un aspect tactique poussé. Hélas, son accessibilité reste assez limitée car il n'y a pas de tutorial. Une lecture du manuel pdf et beaucoup de patience s'avèrent être indispensables pour apprécier ce titre à sa juste valeur. A réserver à un public d'initiés.

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror è un’autentica sorpresa, non solo perché attinge al proprio passato senza riproporne gli errori ma perché riesce a far tesoro delle precedenti esperienze ricavando qualcosa di fresco ed innovativo da una serie che sembrava non aver più nulla da dire. Alla radice di questo inaspettato successo c’è innanzitutto un gameplay vario e dinamico, capace di immergere il giocatore nelle più cupe e remote viscere del mondo spionistico, fatto di ordini da eseguire e gente da ammazzare a sangue freddo. L’altro grande punto di forza di questo titolo, oltre all’ottima realizzazione tecnica abbinata ad una trama abbastanza articolata, consiste nel formidabile servizio di rete associato alla modalità multiplayer, così valido e ben strutturato da suscitare l’invidia di qualsiasi console casalinga. Se la recente ondata di ottimi prodotti non vi ha ancora convinto a procurarvi una PsP, forse è giunto il momento di farci un pensierino.

Newly formed Avalanche Studios out of Sweden should be given credit for a good attempt at its first game. It seems that if they had a little more time to iron out the bugs and add some polish, then they would have produced a great title. The graphics are, for the most part, quite good looking and there is a lot of fun to be had while playing through the storyline, performing crazy aerial stunts, and trying your hand at a few of the side quests. The lack of depth really comes through once you get more than about 10 hours into the game and the monotony of doing the same side quests over and over takes its toll. After that, it comes down to how much fun you can create by yourself. Just Cause works well as a rental or as a game to pick up and play for a short while, but if you want something to keep you entertained for a long time then you should look elsewhere.

Veramente giocabile e divertente, pur non essendo un capolavoro di tecnica; anche questa volta i Milestone hanno prodotto un gioco di moto valido, capace di dare grande soddisfazione quando si riesce a dominarlo e di intrattenere con sfide varie, coinvolgenti e longeve. Il parco moto è numericamente inferiore rispetto a quello di TT, però è molto più aggiornato (e soprattutto non ci sono “scooteroni”, sostituiti con tante, grandiose motociclette nostrane). Chi è appassionato di moto dovrebbe avere sia Tourist Trophy che Superbikes: sono molto validi entrambi e comunque sono il meglio che c'è in giro, specialmente su PS2. TT vanta una cosmetica pazzesca, un sacco di moto provenienti da differenti momenti della storia del motociclismo, cosa che non si ha in Super bikes, dove però le moto molto più recenti e “accattivanti”, ed il modello di guida molto più verosimile.
