En el caso del ser humano, la discusión sobre qué es la vida y cuál es su importancia se vuelve más compleja al ser este el único ser vivo que puede reflexionar sobre fenómenos abstractos e incomprensible. Podríamos decir que la importancia de la vida reside en el don que uno recibe al nacer y que se transforma en aquello que nos permite, en definitiva, existir. Y en Persona 3 Portable entra en cuestión la idea de cómo cuidar y proteger esa vida en un mundo con una suerte de desesperación obstinada y sin remedio. Nos enseña la importancia del sentido de la vida.

A Space for the Unbound is a strong sci-fi title with clever gameplay that meshes point-and-click mechanics, stealth, QTEs, and visual novel aspects together wonderfully. It may not be particularly challenging, but its hard-hitting story makes it worth playing through if you can handle the subject material. If you don’t suffer from mental illness, I feel like this also helps shed some light on these topics that could be beneficial for understanding how hard it is to live with these illnesses. A Space for the Unbound is an incredibly important game that is also fun to play. It’s worth every penny and every second of your time. A Space for the Unbound è contraddistinto da un magnifico arco narrativo, che rallenta la sua corsa giusto nella parte centrale dell'avventura, per poi avviarsi verso un finale che rimarrà a lungo scolpito nella memoria e nel cuore dei giocatori dell'avventura di Mojiken. Il team indonesiano ci parla in maniera accorata della sua terra, delle sue meraviglie e dei suoi problemi sociali, confezionando una meccanica di gameplay, lo Spacedive, perfettamente funzionale alle esigenze della storia e capace di regalare occasioni straordinarie per mostrare inventiva ed estro artistico. L'avventura merita di essere vissuta per i suoi colori, per le atmosfere della città e per il suo percorso narrativo non scontato, nel segno di due personaggi femminili scritti in maniera davvero impeccabile. Vi consigliamo A Space for the Unbound senza riserve, a patto che conosciate la lingua inglese: le storie di Atma, Raya e Nirmala non potranno lasciarvi indifferenti, anche grazie al tripudio artistico ed emotivo dell'eccellente finale.

For those with enough patience to see it through, A Space for the Unbound becomes an intensely rewarding experience that pulls all the right heartstrings. While it starts out slow and tedious and perhaps focuses too much on light arcade sequences, eventually a multi-layered plot with clever puzzles accompanied by engrossing atmosphere and music emerge to treat those who stick with it. It may not be perfect, but this ambitious, culturally distinctive narrative adventure by Mojiken is an easy recommendation.

As it turns out, Colossal Cave is almost as difficult to review as it is to solve. Every time I thought I’d made up my mind about it, I’d play a bit more and feel conflicted once again. On one hand, it’s an impressive bit of historical preservation, serving as a quality remake of a legendary game. On the other, it’s still a frequently confounding experience that nearly drove me nuts at times (and will probably test the average player’s patience more than any new modern game could get away with). Nonetheless, there is something that just feels pleasantly “right” about Roberta and Ken Williams making games again. Here’s hoping that Colossal Cave won’t be the last time we see the (rather lovely) Cygnus Entertainment logo preceding an adventure game in the 2020s and beyond.

Les années 90 sont encore capables de nous surprendre par la qualité de certains jeux apparus alors et dont on ignorait parfois l’existence. Derrière sa piètre inspiration artistique et la faiblesse de son casting Breakers Collection délivre une expérience baston 2D de très bonne facture. On prend un grand plaisir à jouer et on est bien aidé en cela par la grande qualité du portage proposé par Qbyte. C’est très propre, sans faille et bien augmenté sur le volet des modes de jeu, notamment côté online où Breakers Collection semble avoir les épaules assez larges pour se faire une place auprès de la communauté. En somme une bien belle surprise.

Rather than being a game for people who miss the old school ninja platformers of yesteryear, Moonrider feels more like a game made for the people who miss the idea of them. The game borrows liberally from its inspirations and combines them into a game that looks and plays the part just fine. It just doesn’t push itself or the player on a level that will fully satisfy people who still regularly enjoy the games it takes from.
