A Space for the Unbound is an ode to teenage nonchalance, and an emotional lesson in learning to let go, all wrapped up in a story about a superpowered calamity. Its disparate parts thoughtfully work together to create a heartfelt story, full of characters you won't want to say goodbye to.

A Space for the Unbound is a strong sci-fi title with clever gameplay that meshes point-and-click mechanics, stealth, QTEs, and visual novel aspects together wonderfully. It may not be particularly challenging, but its hard-hitting story makes it worth playing through if you can handle the subject material. If you don’t suffer from mental illness, I feel like this also helps shed some light on these topics that could be beneficial for understanding how hard it is to live with these illnesses. A Space for the Unbound is an incredibly important game that is also fun to play. It’s worth every penny and every second of your time. A Space for the Unbound è contraddistinto da un magnifico arco narrativo, che rallenta la sua corsa giusto nella parte centrale dell'avventura, per poi avviarsi verso un finale che rimarrà a lungo scolpito nella memoria e nel cuore dei giocatori dell'avventura di Mojiken. Il team indonesiano ci parla in maniera accorata della sua terra, delle sue meraviglie e dei suoi problemi sociali, confezionando una meccanica di gameplay, lo Spacedive, perfettamente funzionale alle esigenze della storia e capace di regalare occasioni straordinarie per mostrare inventiva ed estro artistico. L'avventura merita di essere vissuta per i suoi colori, per le atmosfere della città e per il suo percorso narrativo non scontato, nel segno di due personaggi femminili scritti in maniera davvero impeccabile. Vi consigliamo A Space for the Unbound senza riserve, a patto che conosciate la lingua inglese: le storie di Atma, Raya e Nirmala non potranno lasciarvi indifferenti, anche grazie al tripudio artistico ed emotivo dell'eccellente finale.

Colossal Cave is a fascinating game, and this modern remake brings the wonder of a text adventure to life in full 3D. It’s streamlined with a few updates, while still keeping the spirit of the original. The game has more than a few issues, but is well worth playing for a magical adventure.

Rather than being a game for people who miss the old school ninja platformers of yesteryear, Moonrider feels more like a game made for the people who miss the idea of them. The game borrows liberally from its inspirations and combines them into a game that looks and plays the part just fine. It just doesn’t push itself or the player on a level that will fully satisfy people who still regularly enjoy the games it takes from.

Persona 3 Portable is probably the best game in the Persona series, even if it feels a little dated at times. A fantastic story told with restraint and great care, tackling some heavy themes and doing an incredible job. It’s compromised, sure, but it’s wonderful nonetheless.

Avec Fire Emblem Engage, la Nintendo Switch s'offre une première exclusivité de qualité en ce début 2023. Comme Three Houses, les combats sont toujours fluides et accessibles, et profitent même d'animations spectaculaires qui renforcent le plaisir de jeu. Les affrontements gagnent aussi en profondeur grâce à la mécanique de Fusion d'Emblème qui offre des outils pour aborder les situations avec intelligence. Au-delà de la qualité du design de ses sympathiques personnages, le titre brille également par son rendu graphique réussi pour de la Nintendo Switch, même si on note des environnements parfois pauvres et une mise en scène statique. Finalement, c'est plus par ses menus pas toujours pratiques et son histoire classique et plus dirigiste que Three Houses que l'expérience pêche un peu. Pas de quoi non plus bouder le plaisir de ce nouveau Fire Emblem qui reste une excellente façon de commencer l'année manette en main.

Monster Hunter Rise s’offre une troisième jeunesse sur les consoles de Sony et Microsoft et réussit son pari à quelques couacs près. Si l’on ne peut pas lui retirer d’être extrêmement généreux, diablement jouissif et relativement propre visuellement, on a aussi tendance à se dire qu'il aurait pu y en avoir plus. L’extension Sunbreak et quelques monstres sortis récemment sur les autres versions manquent encore à l’appel, les capacités des manettes DualSense de la PS5 ne sont pas exploitées et l’on n’aurait pas dit non à un peu de contenu exclusif dans la foulée. C’est donc ici un excellent portage, mais rien de plus. Il aura au moins le mérite de nous faire patienter jusqu’à la suite de Monster Hunter World très attendue par les fans de la licence.
