Marvel’s Midnight Suns est un bon RPG tactique rempli de fan-service qui ravira les fans. Bien que bavard et ayant des problèmes de rythme, il offre du plaisir grâce à un système de combats réussi et une construction d’équipe bien amenée. Il est une porte d’entrée aux jeux de stratégie et de tactiques. Toutefois, il ne ravira pas forcément les fans de la première heure de XCOM, le challenge laissant la place au grand public.

Dans l’espace, personne ne vous entendra hurler… de joie ou de colère ? S’appuyant sur les fondations solides comme du métal du premier Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol esquive la photocopie grâce à ses combats au corps à corps intenses, difficiles, mais pas aussi précis que nous l’aurions souhaité. Malgré un manque certain d’audace, Striking Distance est parvenu à voler les anneaux de Saturne afin de les glisser aux annulaires des amoureux d’horreur sci-fi. Attachez votre ceinture d'astéroïdes, le Space Mountain gore va vous secouer, quand bien même le voyage se révélerait aussi imparfait que classique.

Despite one or two small complaints, Need for Speed Unbound is a great arcade racer, finally getting the series back on track. The versatile handling feels fantastic, and the single-player offers a highly engaging campaign, pitting you against the cops and other racers in equal measure. The much talked-about cartoon effects succeed in bringing some flair to the experience, and it all runs wonderfully at 4K and 60 frames-per-second. If you can forgive a slightly underwhelming backdrop and a barebones online mode, the minute-to-minute action make this more than worth taking for a spin.

Criterion lijkt met Need for Speed Unbound niet helemaal te weten waar het naartoe wil. Bepaalde aspecten van de game zijn leuk, maar andere delen voelen dan weer aan alsof ze nooit helemaal zijn doorgevoerd. Bovendien zorgt een zwakke multiplayer er voor dat er weinig sprake is van langdurig plezier.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns ci ha tenuti incollati allo schermo per ore, sfruttando al meglio ciascuna delle sue componenti ludiche. La vita all’interno dell’Abbazia è varia e piacevole, anche se dovrete ben gestire le giornate per godervela pienamente. Le fasi di esplorazione delle zone circostanti il castello, per quanto limitate dal punto di vista tecnico, offrono a volte scorci paesaggistici notevoli, ma soprattutto faranno la gioia di tutti i completisti, con tanti segreti e citazioni Marveliane da scovare notte dopo notte. Infine, affrontare gli scontri dopo aver visto i propri eroi allenarsi e trascorrere tanto tempo insieme è davvero soddisfacente. Senza contare che ogni sforzo in più infuso nel deck e team building, se massimizzato con azioni assennate, si traduce in battaglie scenografiche, ludicamente complesse, ma mai frustranti. Insomma: le trame principali e secondarie, le feature accessorie come la personalizzazione estetica degli eroi, il gameplay “di pianificazione” e quello “d’azione”: tutto in Midnight Suns collabora con una coesione e una coerenza rare. Se non è magia questa.

Dead Space 4 in all but name, except with no puzzles and surprisingly little suspense. The Callisto Protocol has plenty of gritty action but that’s not quite enough to sustain interest for its entire duration.

The Callisto Protocol ziet er fantastisch uit en slaagt er ook goed in een benepen sfeer te creëren, zoals je die verwacht van dit soort game. Jammer genoeg houden een hoop bizarre en frustrerende gameplaykeuzes het tegen om een echt leuke game te worden en hangt het verhaal aan elkaar van de clichés. De game laat ons daarom met een gemengd gevoel achter, want we voelen dat er zoveel meer in zit. Jammer genoeg is dat er niet allemaal uitgekomen en blijven we achter met een game die ons meermaals kwaad heeft gemaakt.

Sul fronte scenico, The Callisto Protocol centra il bersaglio con una presentazione visiva di prim’ordine, che guarda al futuro, e con una lunga serie di intensi scontri con orride mostruosità, che reagiscono in modo credibile ai colpi di manganello elettrico che le raggiungono. Alternare il corpo a corpo allo shooting o all’uso del guanto gravitazionale può regalare vere scariche di adrenalina ma non quella tensione che in molti s’aspettavano. Dalla progressione a tratti poco stimolante, fino ad alcuni sbilanciamenti ludici, che emergono soprattutto nel corso di specifiche boss fight, questo action a tinte horror è di certo un “buona la prima” per Striking Distance Studios ma, complice anche un comparto narrativo problematico, non è riuscito a esprimere - purtroppo - il suo pieno potenziale.

Glen Schofield, le créateur de Dead Space, est de retour et il a eu raison. Pour un premier jet d’une franchise inédite, The Callisto Protocol tient ses promesses. Striking Distance Studios nous offre un très bon survival-horror intense, violent et old-school. Un jeu doté d'un sens de l’esthétique horrifique qui fait mouche et d'une délicieuse ambiance portée par un sound design ravageur (à jouer absolument au casque au minimum). En se focalisant sur des affrontements au corps à corps, le titre nous gratifie d’un système de combat brutal et gore à souhait, avec sa part d'exigence, qui lui permet de s'affranchir de son illustre modèle. Bref, on en redemande. À quand la suite pour gommer les défauts de jeunesse ?

The Knight Witch is a nice-looking game with hand-drawn visuals, charming characters, and an interesting story. The game combines twin-stick shooting, deck building, and Metroidvanias in a unique way I have never played before!

Callisto Protocol comete algunos errores, pero en el cómputo general lo bueno gana con mucho. Es cierto que da rabia algo ver que algo con tanto potencial no acaba de exprimirse al máximo, pero lo que ofrece ya es mucho más que la mayoría. Confiamos en ese sistema de combate que nos ha encantado y en su ambientación para hacer que el videojuego merezca la pena y nos encantaría ver una segunda entrega.
