Freaky Flyers aurait pu être un jeu très sympa, il en avait la réalisation tout au moins. Malheureusement il cumule les erreurs fatales : trop lent, trop confus, peu maniable, il s'avère au final dépourvu d'aspect ludique malgré une forte personnalité. Un vrai gâchis tout ça.

If you didn't like the first one, there's probably nothing new or different enough to pull you in this time. The love story adds some dramatic depth to Max's haunting story, and somehow makes what's going on more important and interesting. Wreaking havoc is nice, but it's great to also have a love interest complicating things, and Mona Sax is definitely up to the task. The visuals are excellent, the voice work is superior to what we usually get dealt in the action genre, and I only wish the game was a bit longer. A lot longer actually, but it's more because this kind of game is such a rare find than because that find is relatively meager.

In Memoriam pousse le concept du jeu vidéo un peu plus loin. La frontière entre fiction et réalité s'efface presque complètement avec cette enquête passionnante dans un univers glauque et parfois malsain. Je m'interroge tout de même sur l'avenir de tels jeux. Il ne faudrait pas que le net soit envahi de sites relayant de fausses infos dans le seul but de servir notre âme de joueur. Déjà qu'il est délicat de repérer le vrai du faux sur la toile actuelle, je n'ose imaginer ce que cela pourrait donner si de nombreux éditeurs s'engouffraient eux aussi dans cette nouvelle voie de divertissement. BloodRayne is not going to change the videogame industry, It has its problems -- some technical shortcomings here and there, some camera oversights and the occasional level layout difficulty, but I have to admit that I enjoyed playing through the 3D action title; that it delivered a fun little ride while it lasted. There's a good amount of entertainment to be had controlling BloodRayne through a series of varied locals while ripping through enemies in orgies of bloody fights. The borrowed "bullet time" effects are equally well done and have a real place in the game; there are lots of moves and weapons to be learned, acquired and utilized at the peril of the disgusting foes; and the visuals manage to impress on many levels, from the damage models in place to the detail in the architecture, dynamic lighting effects, cloth physics and more. This is not a bad game. But don't confuse it for a 3D adventure. So long as gamers go in knowing that -- expecting fights and gore versus puzzle solving and a deep, engaging quest of some sort -- they should come away happy in spite of its quick play through and lack of originality. Worth a rental at the very least.

If you liked Grand Theft Auto and Twisted Metal, it's pretty likely that you'll enjoy Roadkill. The game is wide-open, the areas are fun to explore, and there are some truly funny moments along the way. One thing to note, though: this game earns all of its M-rating. It's a capital M. There is more gore, rough language, and general disrespect for humanity in this game than in most prisons. If you go in with your eyes open or (God help us) even enjoy some of these things, then it can be bloody good fun. While its story and graphics lack pizzazz, Roadkill has something for everyone: action fans, racing fans, collection freaks, and serial killers can all find fulfillment here.

Like every game from EA, it's only online on the PS2, so if you have multiple systems, that's the one to get as other than that feature (or missing feature as your case may be) the game is pretty much identical across the board. Thanks to Live's controls and in-your-face gameplay, it's one of the better basketball games to hit the cyber court this year, even if it is more of a two-player arcade game, rather than a sim. Any way you look at it though, the game is fun, even if it does have some flaws that keep it from the top of the list.
