Soul Hackers 2 does an commendable job of presenting another solid JRPG experience, albeit one that suffers from a lack of quality and variety in areas where it could have been bolder in its execution. A sense of similarity aside, it’s still a worthwhile story to follow and fans of the franchise will find more than enough to keep them happy, even if there aren’t quite enough new and fresh ideas here to set it apart from the pack. The Persona shadow continues to hover over the rest of the Atlus stable, and it remains a high-quality ceiling to beat.

For those who enjoy the series, Yo-kai Watch 2 Psychic Spectres is more than likely a must have. Even though the extra content included might be a little minimalist, there's probably enough in there to keep you happy. Even though the gameplay is repetitive and battles are mostly hands-off for a good chunk, the game is very nice to look at and is highly polished on the visuals front. The story is interesting enough and legitimately funny.

Visually, SD Gundam Battle Alliance makes an adept showing on Switch. Although the game could use more environments for battles, these venues are attractive. While the models themselves are the Super Formed variety, there’s an indulging amount of detail devoted to the Mobile Suits. As such, it would have been great to have a photo component, to stage, capture, share, (and optionally virtually panel line?) some of your Gundam. When it comes to performance, Battle Alliance consistently stayed above thirty frames-per-second while maintaining some respectable draw distances. Despite a few small (and ultimately forgivable) issues with boss encounters and coercing players into grinding, SD Gundam Battle Alliance is an accomplishment. As an action game with light role-playing elements, it’s just good enough to recommend for those unacquainted with the world of Gundam. With Sakura as your chaperone don’t be surprised if Gunpla starts competing with gaming for your recreational time and income. For those acquainted with the source material, Battle Alliance feels like scrumptious fan-service, served up in SD form.

It's apt that the character you play as in Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed is named Crypto. Like crypto, the game is an interesting idea on paper, but we don't really need it, we don't want to hear about it, it keeps crashing, and if you invest any money into it then you're probably going to end up with buyer's remorse.

Whilst the updated visuals and much improved control scheme are welcome touches, the cracks start to show quickly as it doesn’t do anything to improve on the PS2 original’s gameplay. However, this is still an easy one to recommend if you fancy something simple, but fun.

Sparatorie fuori di testa, una riuscita sceneggiatura che mischia comicità a luoghi comuni, e non per ultimo un restauro grafico di altissimo livello, rendono Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed un ottimo remake che siamo convinti saprà divertire tanto coloro che hanno già amato la saga, quanto i giocatori che invece ancora non vi si sono mai avvicinati prima. Sfortunatamente il titolo soffre di una struttura delle missioni alquanto ripetitiva e tipica degli open world di sedici anni fa, ma nel complesso riesce comunque a coinvolgere l'utente grazie a un'immediatezza che di questi tempi è diventata dannatamente rara.

Derrière ses néons colorés, Soul Hackers 2 reste un jeu de rôle "à l'ancienne" qui s'éloigne des titres plus récents de sa franchise comme Persona 5 Royal ou Shin Megami Tensei V. Au-delà de son esthétique anime cyberpunk, le jeu d'Atlus se repose sur un système de combat à la SMT toujours efficace et qui a fait ses preuves, mais aussi sur son sympathique casting de personnages qui se démarquent par leurs designs originaux. Malheureusement, l'expérience est desservie par une histoire finalement assez simple, quelques lacunes techniques, mais surtout par ses donjons beaucoup trop basiques et répétitifs qui peinent à stimuler le joueur. Un titre qui a de quoi plaire aux amateurs de jeu de rôle avertis donc.
