Giudicare New Super Mario Bros 2 non è piacevole. Non c'è genio, non ci sono intuizioni, non c'è originalità alcuna. Tutti i meriti sono ereditati dal passato, e risiedono nel maestoso artigianato Nintendo. Ancora meno piacevole è pensare che la saga che ha dominato e definito il mondo dei videogiochi per un decennio sia giunta a questo punto. Iwata dovrebbe rimettere presto un team di primo piano al lavoro sui Mario bidimensionali, o potrebbe essere troppo tardi.

MultiVersus is an entertaining and deep platform fighter, but everything outside of simply jumping into a 1v1 or 2v2 match as any one of the eclectic characters in its cast (who are only related by a common corporate overlord) is tedious. I’ll keep coming back to experiment with my Iron Giant’s perk build for team play or learn how to use Marvin The Martian to his fullest, but I’d be glued to this game if I was given more opportunities to earn memorable variant skins or challenge my skills in increasingly tough PvE battles. Instead, MultiVersus offers days of grinding to earn the opportunity to grind more to attain its most enticing rewards, whether that’s the chance to play as an upcoming character or to swag out your favorite fighter. While it’s a huge boon that the actual fighting is solid and worth the time to dig into, it’s going to take more fun objectives to complete and more fruitful rewards to make me want to return over and over again.

Avec Xenoblade Chronicles 3, la Nintendo Switch accueille un nouveau jeu de rôle incontournable dans son catalogue. Loin de la légèreté de ton du second épisode, le titre livre un scénario captivant, riche en rebondissements et en émotions, aidé grâce à une bande-son de toute beauté. En reprenant les bases des deux opus précédents, le gameplay gagne en dynamisme et profite de nombreuses mécaniques efficaces et complexes, même si les combats souffrent de problèmes de lisibilité comme les autres jeux de la série. Et si l'exploration à travers de vastes panoramas reste toujours aussi agréable, ce plaisir est tout de même affecté par une technique qui affiche des lacunes visuelles à plusieurs occasions. Pas de quoi gâcher non plus cette mémorable aventure exclusive à la console hybride de Nintendo.

La Stagione 1 di Century: Age of Ashes ci ha davvero sorpresi per via dell’ottima giocabilità e una formula ludica che prova, con successo, a uscire dai canoni classici del free to play. C’è ancora del lavoro da fare per quanto riguarda la varietà delle mappe e un controllo dei draghi non sempre ottimale, anche a causa delle complessità del level design. Ciononostante, il fascino delle bestie alate e la possibilità di sputare fuoco contro qualsiasi cosa si muova a schermo, ci ha permesso di spendere alcune ore in leggerezza e senza incappare nella frustrazione.

Card Shark might not always play a winning hand, but it is an enjoyable game of cards. A story that pulls you in, an art style that is a delight, all the whilst making card games fun. You don’t even have to be into card games to get the most out of it, I’m definitely no wiser about playing poker. Card Shark is worth placing a bet on.

Luci e ombre su questo Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, come era facile aspettarsi da uno dei tanti adattamenti in stile mobile RPG gacha da parte di Square Enix. Tuttavia, alla fine gli elementi positivi potrebbero superare i difetti, purché si abbia un po' di pazienza nel livellare e non ci si faccia prendere dal gorgo delle microtransazioni, poiché va sempre ricordato che il meccanismo gacha è studiato per spillare denaro agli utenti e questo gioco si rivela anche piuttosto avido, in questo senso. Se si affronta con il giusto distacco (cosa che non significa necessariamente non spendere nulla, ma magari spendere poco e non regolarmente), questo è un prodotto dotato di un carisma raro da trovare in quest'ambito, con storie, personaggi e ambientazioni ben costruiti e un sistema di combattimento da JRPG vero e proprio, al di là delle varie limitazioni tecniche imposte dal contesto mobile.
