Puzzles & Dragons and the Super Mario Bros. Edition games in the same package for just $29.99 should make any match-3 addict happy. While the stories may not set the world on fire, the compelling gameplay is very accessible but tough to master. The great news? You don’t have to take my word for it -- you can try it for yourself via the demo in the Nintendo eStore. Just prepare for some serious addiction.

Crypt of the Necrodancer offers just about every feature imaginable, and each one is executed absolutely masterfully.  It’s wholly unique and provides a tension found nowhere else, offering up some rhythm to the roguelike genre just as it started to feel like it was getting stale.

It’s always somewhat tacky to compare products, but it’s warranted when so very much is borrowed. This game is a bit of a knockoff of the superior Mark of the Ninja. Mark has a better story, less frustrating mechanics, and guards that are slightly less lobotomized than these dolts. If you’ve beaten Mark and want another crack at a decent sidescroller, Chronicles China should fit that bill, but let’s hope they bring some new concepts to the table for the next two outings.

Grand Theft Auto V on the PC takes an already amazing game and makes it better. Every aspect just seems sharper and better than previous releases. This is how all ports should be handled.

Come for the dungeon management, stay for goofy minions like Jayzee, Am’Adamss, and Kato. We’ve seen a lot of “spiritual successors” to Dungeon Keeper, but none have lived up to that genre-defining product. Dungeons 2 is the culmination of a lot of hard work, and it’s great that Kalypso and Realmforge could finally deliver on that often-promised and hardly-delivered goal. Sure, we may not always know what we want, but when somebody shows up and does it right, you immediately know.

Affordable Space Adventures is a great example of a game that takes advantage of everything Wii U has to offer. There are a few drawbacks but this is the best use of the GamePad to date.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is an excellent taste of things to come for the New Nintendo 3DS XL. The 3D presentation opens up the world of Shulk and his friends into a impressively immersive experience. While some of the graphics can appear dated, and it is missing features like touch screen or in game Amiibo support, there's very little about this seamless port that disappoints. It is highly recommended for any owner of a New 3DS XL in search of an engaging and superbly polished RPG experience.

Maybe I am being too critical of a game that costs $10, or $13 with additional DLC. I appreciate that Soldner X-2 was released for the Vita and fills a niche for the system. However, it’s still hard to recommend this game except to the most hardcore of shmup fans with a Vita. If you are in desperate need of a new game for your Vita, there are worse choices out there. However, you need to go in with the expectation of a low-frills shooter with glimpses of innovation before making that purchase.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is the victory lap that every Borderlands fan will enjoy, and packs a tremendous value into one disc. Some performance issues hold it back from being flawless, but all the ingredients are here to sate your chaotic sweettooth.

When all is said and done, Resident Evil Revelations 2 takes the franchise in the right direction. There are plenty of suspenseful set pieces to keep you entertained throughout the entire game, and the focus on teamwork is refreshing. It’s just a shame about the lack of online co-op. As a survival horror game, it doesn’t add much to the genre but as a Resident Evil game, it changes up quite a bit of things to keep the series fresh and relevant, which is something it desperately needed.

Mario Party 10 is fun at times, but the experience is often dampened by its reliance on luck. The game may have a few redeeming qualities, but its strong random element and lack of compelling minigames makes this installment feel like a step back rather than the gameplay revamp that the series needs.

All and all, Sid Meier's Starships on the PC turns out to be a mixed bag of mostly sour elements. It’s a nice distraction and even a good bit of fun depending on how much you enjoy space combat titles, but only if you go in knowing full well that this is a port a mobile game, absent of much the charm and detail we’ve come to expect from Sid Meier titles. In concept, this game is a fantastic way to build upon the fledgling Beyond Earth legacy, but in function, this game feels like a cheaper version of another Sid Meier's Starships that was never actually made.
